About 5 years ago I was 485 lbs. I loved to eat, and I hated to exercise. Embarassingly, it wasn't from any emotional issues or trying times that caused me to lose control of my weight. I didn't have a gland problem or was on any medications that caused me to gain weight. My parents weren't heavyset, so it wasn't genetics. I simply didn't realize (or want to realize) that what I ate per day was almost three times more than most.
My weight became so cumbersome that I ended up in a nursing home. It was then that the light bulb clicked. My overeating and underactivity was going to cause me to die prematurely. I started to get in contact with a nutrition professional. With frequent email contact with her over 5 years, slowly but surely, the weight started to come off. Because I was so heavy, it was coming off at a pound a day at the start. Then it slowed.
About 6 months ago, after a 4 and a half year jounrey, I reached my goal weight of 130 lbs. Because I was so obese, I had to have some plstic surgery because the skin my belly and my butt were hanging almost down to my knees! I am now working in California asa personal trainer and do some Exercise classes with obese men and women who are just starting on that journey.
So my point is, you CAN do it! It's difficult. It's hard, but at the end, it is so worth it. You can't even picture how good you'll feel....until you're there. ;)
And I know she'll probably kill me, but guess who the nutritional professional WAS that assisted me on my weight loss was? None other than your very own, cl-divinetrash. She dun good, huh? ;)
And don't let her fool you with the "I have 10 pounds left to go" stuff. I saw her this weekend and she looked hot. ;) ).

Since Shawna mentioned this and I hadn't read it I thought I would bump it. It really is truly inspirational.
