Did anyone see Dr. Phil show yesterday?

I was home, for a change, and happened to catch it. The radio personality has lost 88 lbs since September 15, and Thomas has lost 67 lbs. The young woman who lost both her sisters in the auto accident is back on track too, has lost a huge amount of weight since Sept 15 and will be in a South Beach bikini contest in March. Even that dark haired woman (forgot her name) who weighed so much over 300lbs and wimpered and *blamed the world* for her problems, said Phil was *her last resort* (attempted guilt tripping the guy, how foolish is that), even that woman....ANGELA...is finding that she only has one chin, not 6 or 7!! A viewer, someone without benefit of gym or anything but her own free will, has lost 69 lbs since the end of September.

So, how far have you guys come in 3-4 months? Have you lost somewhere between 88 and 68 lbs, or are you just diddling around here? It's do-able, but you have to understand that it's no one's fault but your own for the state your body is in. And it will be entirely up to you to change it.

So the doctor on the program said Thomas had probably added 5 years to his life, by taking off the weight and improving his general health. By taking charge of his lifestyle. Sure beats being in a coffin 5 years too soon, all because you don't *choose to* control the fork, and get out there and get some exercise.

If you have been *dieting* since September, and can't honestly look at the scale and see that you've taken off at least 15 lbs every month in that timeframe, or at least 60 lbs total since September 13 (this being January 13 so 4 months x15 lbs= 60 lbs) then all you're doing is playing games, and fooling no one but yourselves.

So which is it? Success, or failure??

Shannon you go girl! I too have hyprothyroid and it is very hard to lose weight. ESPECIALLY when the medication you are on slows it down so it will beat a normal rate. I also have IBS which is hard to eat on as well. Being in starvation mode my body is retaining the weight so I can have some fuel.

How dare anyone get on this board and act that way. You don't have a medical degree and you are not in anyone's doctors visits. To sit on your high horse and pronounce judgement on something you know nothing about is asinine. I am wondering if the people who post this bunk are truly trying to lose in a healthy manner or they are those little itty bitty people that are way too skinny and aren't healthy. I can honestly say those of us that have been overweight would not speak in such a manner. OH by the way...just to add another tidbit...women going through menepause gain an immense amount due to hormone changes. HMMMMM, could that possibly be medical???

I'm confused - do we have TWO trolls, or one with multiple-personality disorder? Pretty funny when you have to come to a discussion board to have a conversation with yourself! LOL - and yet, I feel compelled to respond to one of the points being made by you/her/whoever - the kind of weight loss mentioned (15 pounds per month, every month) is NOT a safe, reasonable or sensible goal according to the best minds of the medical community. Of course, I'm sure that *you* are the real expert and know better than all of them. Anyway, thank you for the comic relief, Forte-Ambrosia-Balls.

I hate to tell you this, but there's more than 2 personalities. I tried to count last night and it's somewhere around 10...
