Hi there, my name is Sara and I'm 19! I am a part of the frugal living board here, and also a Feb.'03 playgroup mom. I'm a single parent and getting ready to move back in with my parents so I can start nursing school, on top of having a full-time job and of course my 11 month old son, Kaydon. I'm very interested in taking off the pounds that I've gained since I had my son. I weigh maybe close to 200, and am wanting to weigh 145. I'm just not sure where to start. I've always been in sports, but I've never had to deal with loosing this much weight. I'm not really that big, because I am about 5'8", and pretty broad shouldered. My parents have a treadmill that I'll run on of course, which is what I did when I was in school, but I'm not sure as to how I can start watching what I eat. For the past 2 years I've been used to eating whatever I wanted, but now I'm ready to lose the weight!! Advice would be appreciated here.

Welcome Sara!!

We have alot in common. I'm 21, single mom to Emily (15 months). I live with my parents as well. I own a coffee shop and dedicate 56 hours/week plus I'm a University Student (Residential Appraiser).

Everyone finds a plan to suit their needs. With my busy lifestyle, I chose Slim-Fast. I was on it before I had my daughter to maintain my weight but this is the first time I've used it to lose weight.

I weigh just over 200 pounds. I put on alot of weight during pregnancy because I had problem after problem and my doctor wouldn't let me do very much physical activity. It drove me nuts! I also gained weight after I had my daughter because I went through post-partum psychosis (worse than PPD). There are no more excuses now!!

Start small. Day 1 you can focus on exercising, day 2 you can focus on healthy eating. You can also make one small goal per day. Before you know it, you'll be putting everything together. Healthy eating & exercise!

Joining this board has helped me because every Friday is weigh-in day. I feel almost obligated to eat properly and exercise because on Friday I have to show numbers!

I'm sure you'll hear awesome tips & advice from more of our members. Welcome to the board. We're here for you. You can cry to us, vent to us, celebrate with us and even just chat with us!!
