Well, it is clear to me that icy princess has never had a weight problem. I don't know what kind of illness she has to make her even want to post on this board. Thank God we are mature enough to see through that phoney icy personally she has. My weight loss has slowed down so much that I am going nuts. But hanging in and will soon start to lose again soon, I hope! Stephanie 280/230/170 Atkid since 6/15/2003

With all the failures I have had in the past with keeping the weight off after losing a lot, I figure losing it slower may be a plus!! It gives a person time to learn more about why we gain it back and maybe gives us more of a chance to keep it off. I have done that to myself many times and I know I am not alone. Most fat people do gain it back. I think it has a lot to do with learning to live in a smaller body.

People who don't have a weight problem would NEVER understand that. :-)Stephanie 280/230/170 Atkid since 6/15/2003

Well...another reason we should lose weight more slowly is because if you lose lots of weight fast....you dont get much time to adjust to the new body.

I think the "diet wars" one sees so often on these boards stems from our tendency to be self-centered. It's difficult for us to understand what will or won't work for another person. When something is working well for us, we're so convinced that we're right that we forget how many failures we had along the way.

I'm not going to comment on the different types of diets out there. It would be nice if the medical establishment in this country did comprehensive and thorough studies on weight loss and diets. The basic mantra is "eat less, exercise more," yet weight loss isn't always that simple. I get the feeling that it's the blind (doctors, diet gurus, the FDA) leading the blind (the ever-expanding public).

Atkins is a high protein and fat with low carbs. Go to Atkins.com and read the rules of induction there. It is very informative. :-) Stephanie 280/250/170 Atkid since 6/15/2003
