Good Morning Ya'll! I am starting to put my foot down and make myself have time for exercising and eating healthier. These last 2 weeks have been off the hook and it's not good for me, so no more. I am eating granola with vanilla soy milk. WOW way too healthy. :) Today's goal is to stay on the diet we have mapped out for me and to get back into the habit to wright everything down. I also need to find a workout book that has a schedule that can be done at home. As much as I need to go to the gym there might be times I can't get there in time so I would like to find exercises that I can do at home. Any suggestions would be appreciated. On my own faith and spiritual walk I am going to make this a huge prayer request for myself. Can't go wrong with the God on your side!

Blessings and hugs!!

Good morning Karrie,

I am glad you are so motivated to succeed today, it's kind of inspiring. I am feeling really good today too. I looked at my food journal from last week b/c I have an appointment tomorrow to weigh, and it is really good, and I put on my pea coat this morning, and it was loose on me..=)

It was tight on me or at least fitted last time I wore it...but now it's loose...even at the bottom.

Happy Monday to you too! The only place I exercise is at home. I am pretty much just getting started. I started with a elliptical machine, it's the most inexpensive model at about $199 on sale. It doesn't take up a lot of space, compared to some other machines. And I also added some exercise videos. Right now I really like BALANCE BALL BEGINNERS WORKOUT, with Suzanne Deason. It's low impact, teaches you how to use the ball, breathing, tone and sculpt, and relax and stretch. I got it at Target, in case you are interested. As far as exercise books I haven't looked into any yet. Good Luck!

WOW that's great that your coat is loose on you. Youc an always tell by clothes how well you are doing. Food journals are hard for me. I get so busy and do so much in the day that sitting down and organizing this is difficult. So happy for you!

I love that ball thingy. Problem is I play on it much more than I workout on it. My friend has one but where she works out on it, I bounce around and try to do tricks. I gues you have to know me. I am just a big kid. I was thinking about doing strecthes at home. Things that I can do while watching TV. Though you have given me something to think about.

Good morning Karrie and everyone! You sound very positive about your goals. I think that is key...a positive attitude.

I just came back from the docs. My heart rate is way above normal for my age. My doc is quite concerned. But she says a good diet and excercise should get my heart under control. I have so many issues that I discussed with her and each one came back to weight loss. She told me about all the diets and programs availabe. And yet insurance doesn't cover any of them. It really annoys me that more than 1/2 of this country is over weight and the health insurance sucks! But that's ok, I don't need that. And I told my doc that I don't want any pills to lose weight. I want to learn how to be healthy..long term, not short term!! So I basically walked out of there with no new knowledge. Bummer! :(

I have been doing my Tae Bo tape. It is quite the workout. I like it. Fast paced, but I do it at my own speed. Plus I learn how to kick butt!! (and that comes in handy when my b/f tells me I have to much on my plate)... ; )

That WATP program sounds very interesting. I think I will look into that.

Anyway, good luck this week. Have a good day!

Nope. She just told me to cut back on carbs, watch my portions and exercise. She said I could follow South Beach but to stay away from Adkins. I asked for literature or brochures, anything they might have there that I could educate myself with. They gave me a copy of some 1 page article it looked like they copied out of a magazine about low carb diets. But...it wasn't even informative. I thought too that she would give me something to follow. A certain # of calories, a meal plan. Something. Nope. She said to do what I can, cut back on portions, cut back on carbs and exercise. And if all else fails we can try gastric bypass. Believe me, I was very frustrated when I left.
