Good Morning Ya'll! I am starting to put my foot down and make myself have time for exercising and eating healthier. These last 2 weeks have been off the hook and it's not good for me, so no more. I am eating granola with vanilla soy milk. WOW way too healthy. :) Today's goal is to stay on the diet we have mapped out for me and to get back into the habit to wright everything down. I also need to find a workout book that has a schedule that can be done at home. As much as I need to go to the gym there might be times I can't get there in time so I would like to find exercises that I can do at home. Any suggestions would be appreciated. On my own faith and spiritual walk I am going to make this a huge prayer request for myself. Can't go wrong with the God on your side!

Blessings and hugs!!

HMM, makes me sad. I called up my doc and said hello help here and she sent me to a dietian and we are going from there. So far I am being taught how to listen to my body and what makes it tick. Then they are teaching me how to eat the right stuff.

Hi Kar,

Like a lot of other people here, I also love Leslie Sansone's walk away the pounds. She has all kinds of videos. I know that you are a spiritual person, and there's one in particular that I thought you would like. It's called Leslie Sansone: Walk the Walk - A Christian Inspired Workout. You can find it on Amazon.com. Good luck with whatever you decide!

Kar,

If you are looking for some workouts that you can print and do at home there are actually a bunch available on iVillage. Go to http://www.ivillage.com/diet and on the left hand side it says TRY A WORKOUT. There are a bunch of different ones to choose from. Hope this helps!

Jessica,

After the new year I decided to finally use that gym membership I have been paying for. So I got all set up with a trainer to work out a routine. Before we started she took my weight, measurements, blood pressure and heart rate. My bp was 196/93 and my RESTING heart rate was 96 (average is 60-80). She said I had to have medical clearance before I could do anything else. So I went to the doctor who told me to monitor it and come back in a week. During that time I kept up my exercising and healthy eating habits and today when I went back it was the high side of normal but still normal. So even though your doctor didn't really give you a plan any kind of diet and exercise should help! Just don't give up because I know I was ready to quit.

Thanks for the advice Susan. I'm glad you've managed to bring yours down. Keep up the good work! I don't plan to give up at all. In fact I plan to show my doc that I can do this. : )

Good luck with the gym!! I really hope that works for you. I supported my local gym for 4 yrs and only went about 4 - 5 times. Eeks! :|

Thanks again Shawna!! I think the problem is I just don't like the word 'diet'. It's so hard to follow a certain diet.

So far I'm doing ok with Slim fast, so I've decided to just stick with it and Tae Bo and see where they get me after a month.

Not a problem! This is something I have to do, whether I like it or not. I plan on sticking around here that long...longer even. I love this board. I feel comfortable here....

So get used to me!! ;)
