I dont think anyone is attacking you for succeeding or anyone else for that matter.
That sounds so REASONABLE! Where were you when I was just starting out losing weight? Like you, I had a lot of weight to lose and it's taken me since summertime--since July-- but finally I've lost 116 pounds, reached goal weight, and am feeling great. But I started out following a diet "plan" (not the one most people are on here) and eventually did my own. But that took a while, beforehand. I use to come to the board but found out that I could do it better on my own. And as I said, your way just sounds so much more sensible than most of the contortions people go through here. As I understand it, you just determined "goal weight" and then ate the number of calories a person at that goal weight should? Just making good food choices and throwing in a bit of exercise? That's pretty much the way I ended up, but it took a while to come to that conclusion. As they say, it's not rocket surgery (ha) though some people seem bound and determined to turn it into that.
I hope you're enjoying your new self, as much as I'm enjoying mine. Have you reached that goal weight yet, or are you still working toward it? I may have missed something wading through these other posts and all the back biting some folks have been hurling at you. Anyway, good for you!!!!!
It doesn't seem that one-summer has done anything "wrong" about losing weight, other than possibly she's lost a lot more than you have and she's done it a lot quicker and that really bites, doesn't it.
I'm going to take her part here. it's the most sensible thing I've ever heard of to do as she describes. So she didn't go on a "diet" at all. All she did was determine a good personal weight, and then eat AS IF she was already at goal. And by doing that, she got to goal.
Near as I can recall, you have weighed pretty much the same thing ever since you first came to this board last summer....haven't you? I distinctly remember your best friend coming onto the board, when you got into the middle of another row, just to point out how *successful* you were, since you were under 200 lbs. So I see, at least 7 months have passed since that happened, and you are still basically at the same point. And during that time this woman one-summer has lost over 100 lbs it seems. And so have I, in fact. In point of fact, while you've been staying the same....or roughly the same....I've lost 118 lbs. So how many pounds has one-summer lost, because I'm seeing it's over 100 lbs since summertime? Yes, I can see the source of your nose-out-of-joint and, funny thing, with you it's the same thing it's always been. Other people are more successful and you get bent out of shape over it. The more time passes, the more some things stay exactly the same it appears.
