I SO know what you mean about "going out in public...". That is me to a T! I can do beautifully when I'm home alone and in total control, but the minute someone says dinner out and I'm all over it. LOL.
Last weekend I was really worried about the time out I was going to be spending just with dh(kids were at grandparents all weekend) and then that darn super bowl party. I went into Friday evening and Sat. repeatedly telling myself that this wasn't about the food but the company I was keeping, etc. I focused on dh and had great conversation to the point that I didn't even finish half of what I'd ordered and I felt fine! Then Sun. rolled around and my "dearest" sister had to make some of the most fantastic food. Ugh!
Needless to say, all the self talk of "company", blah, blah, blah flew right out the window and out of sight. While I didn't completely gorge, I wasn't exactly an angel either. LOL.
Like you, I just reminded myself of how great the food was and have been ever so angelic all week long. ;) The best part of that entire weekend was that I bumped up my workout to an hour long and have stuck with it all this week. So the weekend wasn't a total loss, right?
Just remember, no guilt. You enjoyed your time with family and you've recommitted and are ready to start again in the morning. Thank goodness new beginnings are free because this ol' girl would be broke tryin' to pay for it over and over again! LOL.
Have a wonderful weekend Shawna! You are truly an inspiration!
Everyone has missteps, Shawna....for example after a month and 2 days of Successful atkins I ate 4 biscuits tonight and feel like a slug now. I am ashamed of myself and was beating myself up REALLY bad til I read your post and my first thought for you was "everyone has those days, she shouldn't beat herself up". Why can I always be gentler with someone else's heart than I can be with my own?
Anyway, tomorrow is a new day, and you'll do great.
Just get back on that horse and ride. Everything I read says sometimes a cheat jumpstarts you anyway! So don't hurt yourself trying to work off the chips and salsa, just know next time to go somewhere they don't put "snacks"on the table!
Guess where I went on Saturday with Roger??? TUMBLEWEED! We didn't have chips and salsa but I ordered the buffalo chicken wrap! LOL, that is weird. I had a bad weekend too...very bad..complete with BBQ ribs last night for the probowl...lol...
Oh well, I am back on today, and I plan to work my BOOTY off tonight with exercise...I weigh in tomorrow =(

It's ok to stumble every once in awhile, so long as it doesn't become a habit.
