Hi everyone

I am 29 and a mom to a 8 year old boy I am 5ft6 I hate to say it but I will for the first time admit it but I know weigh ppfftttt 273 pounds my whole epiphany came when I had to start to the doctors office for health problems… I stepped on the scale and then I went and threw up… I was 240 for a long time I knew I needed to loose weight but I was okay for the moment….. I been having health problems for the past 6 months I had stopped ovulating no periods and they are still trying to figure out what’s wrong with me… I started a very low calorie diet and right now im soooooooooo hungry but lets talk about something else lol… I know exercise is a big part of weight loss I cant walk much because I have horrible bone spurs on my feet so if I walk to much I become almost crippled for a while….I need some exercise ideas with out being on my feet to much if that’s possible…. Also I started the beginning phases of diabetes … I need to do this not only for myself but my son my dh is great he never even told me how fat I was getting lol he complains he needs to gain weight I complain I need to loose if only I could take mine off and give it to him oh how nice…….. I would like to find a pen pal for a lot of needed moral support…. That is going through the same process of trying to loose weight please write me at Desiree741@hotmail.com

Hi! First of all- my DH is also a stick man who wants to gain weight. Makes me sick....LOL!

I stopped ovulating for a long time, and once I started to lose weight it started up again. Lately it's horrible, but eh....

I would ask your dr. about the possibility of PCOS. I am insulin resistant with PCOS and low-carb is working SO well!

You can email me at melody12171977@yahoo.com

Glad to meet you!

Hey- do you like water activities? That could be a little easier on your feet!

especially deep water aerobics where you wear the belt, I assume your feet never touch down doing that. Never have done deep water aerobics personally, I'm afraid of deep water!

Welcome, Desiree! I'm glad you joined us! I can't really think of too much aerobic activity that you can do without putting too much pressure on your feet except for water sports, either. Except maybe an exercise bike? Would that put too much pressure on your feet? I figure it's not as much pressure as walking would be. If I think of anything else, I'll surely let you know.

Again, welcome!

welcome to the board Desiree, i felt the same way when i weighed myself. Good luck on the weight loss! Here's some exercises you can do off your feet that i remember doing from my tapes.

legs- lay on side with both bent and lift top one, on all fours lift one leg out to side, 1 leg and lift,on all fours bend one leg and lift up

Arms-arm weights- various exercises

Abs-crunches,side crunches, lay on back bend legs and lift

Butt-lay on back bend legs and lift butt while tightening butt and thighs

that's all i can think of now..Good luck!

Also, PBS put out a series of exercise videos (cardio activities) that you can do completely while sitting.
