Ive only done Atkins so I think it worked best for me (lost 25 pounds in 2 months) but I also think that SBD is very good.

I have not done either diet (mainly cause I just can't eat all the protein), but I have read both books and researched them both.

I have done both atkins and south beach. I did atkins for 2 weeks and lost 10ish pounds but i hated it! I am not a big meat eater so it was really hard for me to stick to it! I started sb on jan 5 and have lost 14.5 pounds and it is very much easier to follow but i am on phase 2 now and not losing i think that I am not following it like I should. It can be kind of difficult to understand. I guess it depends on your life style if sb is good for you. I am very busy with 2 jobs and 2 kids so I do like things that I can grab and go and sb doesn't allow all of these great low carb items that are out there. I cheat that way. But sb allows fruit where atkins doesn't! I am thinking about doing weight watchers though!

Why do either one? Personally, I think they are both bad ideas. There was a segment on Nightly News last night about Atkins autopsy results. We all know he died from an accident, but the autopsy shows that he had heart disease caused from eating excessive animal fats. You may care to look up the transcript of last nights news, if you missed it.

Dr. Atkins DID NOT die of heart disease caused from eating animal fats.

He did suffer from heart disease, but it was cardiomyopathy, which is an autoimmune disorder completely unrelated to diet.

That's the Atkins' corporate line, but it's untrue. The autopsy results printed this week show that Atkins had repeated heart attacks, brought on by diet. And in fact he likely hit his head on the sidewalk AFTER falling as a result of another heart attack. Read Wall Street Journal this week.

You have repeatedly said: The autopsy results printed this week show that Atkins had repeated heart attacks, brought on by diet.

Soujourn_joans won't be able to do that, Shawna, because there is no autopsy report, because there was no autopsy.
