Please read some of the horror stories before deciding to take the Depo.

Though I must say that the education I am recieving from ya'lls wisdom is invaluable. What a way to know my choices when I do become active.
I really don't wish this skin disease on my worst enemies. Let alone my new friends. I sometimes can't even walk it gets so bad. My b/f sees what I go through. It's pure hell. There's no cure for it, there's not even a medication for it. There's been no research on it. NOTHING.
Hun, I didn't mean to scare you. But if I can prevent someone from going through this I will.
Whatever you do decide, make sure you research it for yourself. Don't just take the docs word for it.

jess,
How do you know your skin disease came from depo? I've been on it for 4 years with no problems. I also worked at Planned Parenthood for a while and there were very few problems with it (an equal number to those taking other forms). Not all birth control is for everyone. The pill gave me serious cramps and the shot rescued me from a 6 month period. Every woman is different so everyone not everyone is going to react the same way. As a OB/GYN in training (LOL) I pay a lot of attention to these types of things. I'm not advocating Depo for anyone, it's just like choosing a diet, you have to pick what works for you.

Dana.....I agree about the depo shot.
Once again I am NOT advocating Depo, but whos to say those women didn't have fertility problems before taking Depo?
