Thank you so much for posting that link (www.abcinternetmarketing.com/depo-provera/index.html). I only know a few people who were taking the shot and they have all good stories to tell. I know that most people may experience good things from it but that's just too strange that thousands of women have appeared on the website to report bad stories. It's just too risky.

Right now I don't have to worry about birth control and I dread the day I do have to think about it but I'd rather risk an unwanted pregnancy by using the pill and condoms than turn into a chemical mental case.

Once again, thank you for coming forward!

My body has stretch marks so bad from gaining so fast its awful...

I KNOW I ATE TO GET FAT ALSO..I AM NOT BLAMING NORPLANT ENTIRELY FOR MY WEIGHT GAIN JUST SAYING IT HELPED!!!!

Sorry I had to add that before someone attacked me saying "its not the bc that made ya fat" LOL :eye roll:: Anyways I got severe acne...when I had NEVER EVER had any skin problems before..the normal teenage every once in a while pimple..but not like I had it after the Norplant...It screwed my hormones up so bad..I even had facial hair at 23 !!!!!!!

April, I had a problem where I was bleeding all the time about a year and a half ago, and although I wanted to get pregnant, my doctor put me on the pill for a couple of months to regulate my periods. I had been on the pill before, but this must have been a different dosage or something. The first AF I had on the pill was a total nightmare! It was so heavy that I became anemic. The cramps were so bad I was up all night one night crying. But the next one wasn't so bad, and then they became easier after that. I'm not on it anymore because I was trying to get pregnant after that, but I just wanted to let you know that if this is your first month on the pill, your AF may not always be as bad as this one. Hopefully they will get better as the months go on. If not, then make sure you tell your doctor. Hope this helps!

i did depo provera for a year or two... and just am getting off of it. dd was born 10-27-01. so i was on it since my 6 week check up after having her. i was so glad to read that web page that was put up. i got my tubes tied dec 3 last year. i bled for a long time after having that done... my last depo was in august, so it is still getting out of my system. dec i bled for about 20 days. jan/feb i bled for about 30 days... NOT FUN! i believe depo contributes to the weight i've gained. i gained 20 pounds in 6 months last year. it also helps make me crazy i think. LOL. i've been depressed, lots of mood swings, fatigued, absolutely no sex drive, the list just goes on and on. since i've been off of it, people can tell a change in my moods, and even just the way i look. i feel a little bit 'FREER" off of it, like i have sense of self back a little, like my emotions are a little bit more my own. i'm still "recovering" from all the symptoms that i went thru and didn't know it.

All in all, it was just a really bad choice for me.

***A note about ortho tri cyclen***

---- this is what my doctor told me------

i didn't remember to take the pill everyday, so it messed with my reproductive system. because of this i developed uterine cysts. by themselves they weren't too much to worry about because they could go away on their own, (is what i think i was to understand).... anyway one burst in my uterus and it was the worst pain you can imagine. i didn't know what had happened. (by the time i had waited in the waiting room at the dr. for 40 min i was ok again... go figure) but the dr said my not taking the pill regularly caused these... just a little heads up

yeah it's interesting how people vary with how they respond to things. I don't take the BC pill because it changes my mood, in a negative way,my sis was on Depo i shot and she's had a 3 MONTH period since then! But my cousins wife has been on Depo for years with NO problems..Guess it all depends on the person..lol
