YOur diet actually sounds pretty good, but the carbs actually seem high from what people I know on ATkins take in ( I don't know all the exact numbers of the Atkins diet). I think your diet is working well becuase you are still making reasonable choices -lots of veggies and chicken and stuff instead of lots of hamburgers without the bun and bacon and such for every meal like some people I do know on it. Sure those are ok to have every once in a while but eating high fat and high cholesterol foods all the time is what is bad about the way some people interpret the diet. In my opinion if it works for you stay with it, just make smart choices about where your protein comes from (fish and white meat chicken more often than red meats etc) and don't cut out carbs completely. The thing to remember for everyone- those for and against Atkins- is that all diets are based on being low calorie (if you add up suggested meals in Atkins you will see this) and the focus of the diet is different (ie low carbs for Atkins vs low fat diets) so that you can find a diet you think you can stick with and to attract you to their diet. Where people go wrong in any diet is not making smart choices. Just becuase you are allowed to have bacon for breakfast doesn't mean you have a whole package everyday for example, but if you eat right, eating food like this in moderation will be ok and you can still lose weight. I'm glad that you have found a diet and new lifestyle that is working for you and getting you to your goals. Congratulations and keep making good choices in your diet!
