How do you busy ladies get in exercise. Yesterday I came home, moved back when both parents got really ill, and I barely had time to run 2 errands before I got jumped on to do this and that and another. How in the world do ya'll schedule in exercise when you get hom from a 9 hour day and you have people pulling on you?

It's so pretty here that I so wanted to yesterday but when everyone is pulling on you how do you get away? I am going this evening no matter what. I clocked my little route and it's one mile so this will be great to do after work.

Schedule it in your planner like you would an important meeting. Make time for your health just as important as(if not more than)everything else you do. I found that if I got into the habit of scheduling it and giving it the same importance as a work appointment or something I'll make myself do it. And when you schedule your workout, schedule just a workout for that time slot (not like workout and errands 4-7 or something). Be specific with the times. Like errands 4-6, then workout 6-7. And when people want you to do something else, unless its an emergency, just say you have an important appointment that you can't miss (which is what your exercise should eventually become).

Good idea. I have found I can do that with friends but with my family that it's hard. I will need to start that SOON!! But what a great idea.

once you start your regular exercise schedule, and let everyone know when that is, people tend to stop bugging you because they know you're not available...

My only time except for Wednesday (bible study) is after work. I already get up at 5 and well that is just too early there. But ya'll are so right I need to schedule it in and that's that. This is my worst area for discipline. I will so need to be nagged into it.

Evil?????? Exercise is good for your heart, your general welfare. I don't know why you'd ask if exercise is evil. That makes no sense. It won't necessarily make you lose weight (it could help), but exercise and just getting out there is absolutely ESSENTIAL to a healthy, and healthful, long life. Couch potatoes generally don't live to old age, and even if they did I'm not so sure a couch potato existence would be worth living.

Oh, to answer your other question:

"How in the world do ya'll schedule in exercise when you get hom from a 9 hour day and you have people pulling on you?"

You just do it! Make living a priority in your life. That doesn't necessarily mean scheduling time at a gym or formal *program,* but it does mean doing something besides just a 9 hour day and then couch potato-ville
