I know that I have missed welcoming a few people so I just wanted to post and say HI! to all of you at once. I've been down and out for a bit, but have decided to move along... This board is a GREAT means of support and help and inspiration and occasionally claws come out, but all in all I love it here. WELCOME aboard. I haven't been celebrating everyone's triumphs appropriately either, so all of you- YAY! GREAT JOB! I AM SO PROUD OF YOU!

Now, onto the great terrific fabulous wonderful fantastic happy joyful amazing lovely YAY hallelujah news....

I DON'T HAVE TO HAVE A HYSTERECTOMY~! Can you tell I am happy about this???? *grin*

I have damage to my uterus, and lots of scar tissue, but he said they should be able to remove that and in the long run it may HELP me get pregnant eventually. I literally broke into happy tears when he said I don't have to have the hysterectomy. He was very nice and said he was sorry he scared me so badly, but that he was very concerned about the blood loss. I was just devastated by the thought of that, even though I accepted it as a possibility I didn't WANT it. Thanks so much for your kind words, and love you all millions.

Mel

Edit* Forgot to add this, and I really wanted to because I ADORE my dh. He hasn't known how to console me or make me hurt less so last night he found a quote online for me and put it in the book I am reading so I would see it when I went to bed. He couldn't find the author though.

"Neither flesh of my flesh, nor bone of my bone,

but still miraculously my own.

Never forget for a single minute

you did not grow under my heart....

You grew in it."

OHHHH YOU WONDERFUL LADY!!!

If I could I would give you a huge hug for this great news. Remember babies are gifts from God and when it's time the little one will come with a huge bow on their head with a tag that says With much love God.

Aww- thanks so much. I am in such a great mood! My kids could even tell the difference in me from recently til now...and when Rob called me from work on break and I told him what the dr said he was so happy, too. He said I sound more like myself even on the phone. :-)

Just for you Mel,

Legacy of an Adopted Child

Once there were two women who never knew each other,
One you do not remember -
the other you call Mother.
Two different lives shaped to make yours one.
One became your guiding star -
the other became your sun.

The first gave you Life and the second
taught you to live in it.
The first gave you a need for Love
and the second was there to give it.

One gave you a nationality,
the other gave you a name.
One gave you the seed of talent,
the other gave you an aim.
One gave you emotions,
the other calmed your fears.
One saw your first sweet smile,
the other dried your tears.

One gave you up...
It was all that she could do.
The other prayed for a child...
And God led her straight to you.

And now you ask me through your tears
The age old question through the years:
Heredity or Environment -
Which are you the product of?

Neither my darling, neither-
Just two different kinds of Love.

I just had to tell you- I took this poem and superimposed it over a pic of my kids together and it's seriously the prettiest thing ever. My aunt is going to use her super duper picture printer to print it for me so I can frame it and put it up here in the house. I love it so much.

Thanks a million

Um, he didn't explain it all this time, because I was really emotional and probably wouldn't have heard anything beyond "you don't have to have the hysterectomy" so I have to go back in the 1st. From what I did get it would be some sort of laparoscopy-ish surgery to remove the scar tissue. He said there's a "significant amount" to which I asked him how that translates into quantity and he handed me some kleenex and said we should talk about all of this on the 1st when I am more calm.
