Howdy Doody!!

Well, last night I walked a brisk mile and a half in my neighborhood. I loved it! My muscles in my thighs were twitching and I was just happy as a lark. Until everyone came home and somehow I became maid, doctor, IT specialist, etc. No hubby and no kids how did I get into this role.

I talked with my doc and dietian yesterday too and I was glad I did. I was concerned about the craving for something to eat and was told it's NATURAL. WOO HOO!! She explained to me that there are 2 reasons on why. One) if you look back during your day and see a lot of bad food and carb inflated foods then that would be the reason for the sugar rush or two) if you are eating right and healthy, then your body needs that sugar and a little amount is not going to hurt. HMM, looking at what I ate yesterday I can say it was number 2, which in itself is a small victory.

I also stepped onto the evil scale and down a pound. Now if I can restart the day off better than it had started.

Mornin girl!

I love when they say "And a little sugar won't hurt." I actually get scolded at by my doctor when I don't have any sweets througout the week "Sara, you need to at least have one thing that is sugary b/c if you don't then one day you will totally crave it and binge out on sugar." So she says I need a little to keep me sane pretty much, plus, it doesn't hurt! Like, since last week, I am down 5 lbs. The only dessert I had was on VDay--me and my b/f shared a sundae after our meal. I really don't crave a lot of sugar anymore. I used to get headaches b/c of the lack of sugar, but now I don't. I guess drinking 3 dr. peppers a day, then taking it away all the sudden would give you headaches....

Sara,

I am noticing that I need that type of sugar at least once a week and I am also in need of animal fats as well. I have IBS and it won't allow me to eat red meat so once or twice a week I feel horrid. I have talked to my doctor and she told me that I need to eat something with the same fats and enzymes and what not red meat has so I can maintian a balance. Believe it or not our bodies do need the bad fats and what not for balance. So that's when french fries come into play.

5 pounds down!!! WOO HOOO

Karrie, Congrats on your 5 pound loss!! That's great. And I'm glad you enjoyed your walk outside yesterday. I can't wait until I can walk outside again. Right now it's too darn cold!! And it's good to know that a little sugar doesn't hurt. I've actually been having a small treat (a low fat ice cream sandwich or something like that) as the last thing I eat each day, and that seems to keep the sugar cravings at bay. I have such a sweet tooth and used to eat probably at least 600 or 700 calories a day in sweets! OUCH! Now, I know I can have my treat at the end of the day, and instead of the 600+ calories I'm only having about 150.

Keep up the good work!

Girlie!!!

HUGS TO YOU!!!!

Only thing I have noticed is that after that nice brisk walk, I woke up rather hungry this morning. But it's all good.

I've heard that keeping lil chocolate chips helps to curve cravings throughout the day ... so that you can eat just a little bit :)
