Ok ladies...Please help me!

Sunday will be my 1 month mark for this diet/exercise/change of life and I haven't lost any weight. The scale moved down last week, but it's back to it's starting position this week. I haven't been bad, in fact I've been very good! I've been better than usual. I've really pushed this week. What am I doing wrong???????? I haven't eaten out. I've cut my portions almost by 3/4. My normal menu is this:

Breakfast: Slimfast

Snack: yogurt

Lunch: slimfast or salad

Snack: pretzels, carrots

Dinner: usually baked chicken, veggies, and either potatos or macaroni, or something; sometimes just a salad and/or tuna.

*Usually throw in an apple and orange or 2 oranges somewhere. Usually dessert after dinner.

I've been exercising - I've done WATP for over a week now. Just graduated to 2 miles. But still, I've been faithful - except weekends. Before that it was TaeBo. But still, 4-5 days a week!! 20-30 min a day!!!

So what am I doing wrong? I thought I felt a change in inches in my stomach, but I don't know. I just bought a measuring tape so I can start recording my inches. Is it just fat turning into muscle since I'm working out? I've also been watching calories along with controlling portions. But I'm beginning to lose faith guys. Advice???

Sadly,

Jessica

My suggestion would be to count up the amount of calories you are eating each day.

Hey Jess..Im sorry your not seeing the kind of results you are seeking . I wonder have you been measuring ? Sometimes you are losing inches and gaining muscle..and we know muscle weighs more than fat so since you have been working out maybe that is happening ? I hope you see results soon ..DONT GIVE UP...WHATEVER YOU DO DONT GIVE UP ! HUGS

Sometimes it takes time to jump-start your metabolism. At your rate, when it does start up, you'll be melting the pounds off. Also, if you have been exercising that much, muscle weighs more than fat, so it takes more time b/c your fat has to turn into lean muscle mass.

Also, how is your water consumption? If you're not drinking enough you could be dehydrated, which will cause you to retain extra water weight, maybe masking your loss. Also, your body needs extra water to burn fat and excrete it. Don't know if this is the case. You ARE getting healthier, though! It sounds like you are doing great with working out!

Jessica, my questions would be (1) are you eating enough and (2) how much water are you drinking?

Ok to answer everyones questions:

I try to put myself at 1800 calories a day. I haven't been counting until now. But I would say it's around there. The counter at health.discovery.com says I should get 1874 a day. I am definately going to start counting everything.

I drink about 80 oz of water per day. Sometimes more, sometimes less.

I'm not really hungry. I eat enough. I'm not still hungry after a meal. I know I'm not dehydrated...I'm in the bathroom every 1/2 hr almost.

I was thinking while I was at lunch. I wore my heels yesterday and didn't rush home to take them off. I am wearing them again today and still they aren't bothering me. Usually my feet ache so bad I can't stand 1/2 way thru the day. But I've worn them 2 days in a row. That must mean I've lost something...right? I think you guys are right about the inch thing. I will take measurement of my inches tonight.

Thanks for the input.

Currently at an uncomfortable 240, 5'6". bleh!

Is 36 WW pts a day good? I don't understand the whole points thing. See that's why I'm not doing any plan in particular. I hate following other people's rules. I hate being restricted.

Maybe that's the key. I can try 1500 for a week and see if that does anything. Right now though, anything less than 1500 and I'll probably be starving.

Thanks for the tip Shawna. Your "very un-expertish WW analysis" makes alot of sense. =)
