Switching Plans

Hi All...ah yes, insomnia set in tonite. Maybe the sugar still hasn't run out my system from my jungle run this weekend. But have a question. Has any of you switched from a low/no carb plan to a low fat plan? I've been doing Atkins since Feb and am thinking about switching to Weight Watchers. I'm down like 13 lbs and it's not that I'm unhappy with that I just am really missing some of the general healthy foods that I can't eat on Atkins. Like fruit or low fat yogurt or a bowl of cereal in the morning. I also question whether Atkins is really healthy for me. I record what I eat on www.fitday.com see that most of my caloric intake is from fats. I'm thinking there's more variety to be satisfied on WW. I'm also thinking long term and that it might be easier to maintain any weight loss on a different program where the food isn't so restricted. Anyone have any thoughts or ideas? Let me know.

First of all congrats on the 13 pounds. One of the reasons I am not doing something like atkins is because I couldnt bear giving up fruit. I haven't read atkins, but I did a no carb diet several years ago and lost a lot of weight. I can't even think about going back on it. I am doing a low carb plan where I can eat most fruit and whole grains. I think you will lose weight either way, but you need to find something you can live with for the rest of your life. It doesn't sound like your heart is into atkins and maybe you need to look elsewhere. sharla

I am following LA Weight Loss - it is like the original Weight watchers. I get a certian amount of Protine fruit starch from a list. I am planning on loosing the weight on that then maintaing on Weight Watchers since there are more food choices.

But I feel for Shawna's sister i too can not stop at one "treat"

But since you want a plan you are heading in the right direction.

Good luck on your jouney

Kerry,

I switched from South Beach to Weight Wathcers and I really like the flexibilty of WW. It is a lot easier for me to follow and is really better in the long run for me. I need structure and need I guess to be told this is what you can have. I have lost 6 pounds since Feb. 16th and a total of 19.5 pounds since Jan 5. I really do like being able to eat a variety of foods in weight watchers too.
