To be honest, IF I'm eating out, I'm pretty much eating whatever my favorite dish at the restaraunt is, healthy or not.

Well, my favorite place to eat is my brother-in-law's Mexican restaurant. It's free and either my boyfriend will make me something low-fat or I can cook it myself, which I like. I can put in low-fat cheese, use veggie oil instead of butter to cook, and whatever else i want....

But when I go out, I like Santa Fe chicken salad at Applebees, and Sausage and Peppers Rustico from both Olive Garden and Macaroni Grill(though here it is called something a little different)

Joe and I made a deal that we only are allowed to eat out on Saturdays since we are trying to get healthy . It is working so far when I dont go behind his back and order sonic grrrrA

His PT told him to make one day a cheat day..but to eat only half of what you would have eaten when you didnt give a crap..his words LOL..portion control is alot easier than I thought it would be .

I dont really have a fave resturant..we used to eat Chilis alot only because they delivered haha and they had a good "guiltless grill" menu...or my all time fave fro there "margarita chicken"

I usually always order some sort of grilled or baked chicken with tons of steamed vegges

Well being on Atkins, I'm lucky that Chili's, TGI Fridays, Subway, Burger King all have "Atkin friendly" menus now. So, I'll usually order that. But the portions seem to be oversized and I'll usually not eat the whole thing and bring some home for lunch the next day or something. Anything else, I'll just eat/order anything w/out starch/pasta/potato carbs. It's such an adaption. Kind of a weird way of eating. I suppose it'll have to change if I decide to go on WW. So, I'm looking forward to all of your posts!

WE'RE SUPPOSED TO EAT HEALTHY WHEN WE EAT OUT TOO?!?! AGGHHH! lol :)

I usually order what I would've ordered in the past and just eat 1/2 of it. We try to go out once a week, usually on the weekend, and since I've done good all week I think I deserve a treat! Besides there's no possible way to slim down ANY of my favs! ;)

I've also learned to order water instead of soda or iced tea. That really helps with the calories too.

Ok, so my all time fav dessert is Applebees's Blondie Brownie sundae!! yummmy! We ordered one this weekend actually and split it and still didn't eat it all. Believe me I was in mourning as I walked away from the rest of it. But noticed on my way to the car I wasn't sick to my stomach like I usually am after coming out of there. That's definately a plus, especially since we went dancing after that.

Other favs include:

Mexican - chicken fajitas/tacos/burritos

Chinese - General Tsao's Chicken

Italian - Chicken parmasean

I like chicken. hehe!

:)

I absolutely love Japanese food.....so, I usually order some sort of some sushi.. I love the Miso soup, too. Kind of high in the sodium department, but I love it all the same.

This was fun to read. :)

Let's see. I didn't used to eat out much, and when I did it'd be fast food or subway. At Subway is easy to go healthy (I get what I want and skip the cheese and mayo). At a fast food place, I am crazy about the grilled chicken. I order it with tomato, lettuce, and mustard. The Southwest Grilled chicken salad at Chik-Fil-A is awesome.

That said, my boyfriend eats out all the time, and now takes me with him. I find it much harder to make healthy choices in a real restaurant. We eat mexican alot, and I usually go for the fajitas, which aren't as bad as some of the other choices. I love italian and chinese, and usually give in to get whatever I want there (italian is anything that includes mushrooms and cheese, and chinese is general tsao's chicken and my FAVE: crab rangoon- yummmm). For the most part, I just try to steer us clear of chinese and italian restaurants, that way I am not tempted. ;)

Anyways... ate in tonight, and it was healthy and yummy! :)

I've really been craving sushi recently. I get sushi, soy beans (which I love. They are so easy and so healthy. I think you can get them frozen in the states. Just boil them and eat. They are a great snack.) and a salad.

Funny note about the salad. About a year ago I ordered one and they didn't understand me. I ended up with octopus and a tomato and bacon salad. Not exactly what I wanted.
