The WORST Reason to Lose Weight EVER-

Yep, I have to admit it. I am a petty person.

Next Monday my husband's exwife leaves for prison boot camp. For the next 4 months she will be exercising ALOT and eating correct food etc. Which means, that her 10 lbs heavier than me figure is gonna get harder, and leaner, and I can't stand it. So, I have decided that cramps or pain or iron deficiency or not, I HAVE to get back on track because I am NOT going to let her come home from being incarcerated and look better than me. I mentioned this to Rob, and he laughed. When he realized I was serious he hugged me and said she could weigh 120 lbs and still not hold a candle to me no matter what. Great sap, sweety, but I want to make sure I am not as lumpy when she comes home. I am naturally a competitive person, but I can usually make sane concessions. This time I can't. In the long run she's benefitting from her mistakes, and that's great as long as she learns her lesson. But part of her learning her lesson is NOT going to be wearing smaller jeans than me come summer.

So, I am petty. I can handle it. Had to share because I am going to need LOTSA support to make sure I can keep at it and succeed.

Hugs to all.

LOL..well i'd think of it as motivation. It would be bad if all of a sudden of not doing anything or thinking of losing weight you decide to lose because of her. But you are doing this for you and beating her is just sweet motivation =)

I have my family reunion begining of July so that plus only a 2 lb loss in Feb is a big motivation for me now =}

I had a really good friend in Wisconsin who was my height (5'6"), but only weighed about 85-90lbs. She was always trying to gain weight. She was GROSS skinny. I never wanted to look like her but I didnt want to stand next to her either. We must have looked like Laurel and Hardy. My best friend in the world is 5'11" and probably weighs around 150. I am never jealous of her and she is probably one of the few, if not the only woman I don't feel like I have something to prove to.

Nah, I'm not talking about any of the fantastic ladies around here. I'm talking about the offline people I am forced to associate with from time to time (mainly SO's friends). Sorry if that post came off the wrong way.

We all need a push.

I am going to Arizona in July. I realized i need to get serious when I found out there is a weight limit on the mule train at the grand canyon of 200 dress & with gear. That was it for me. I figued i could lose weight & go down in my bathing suit but alas no that is not accepatable. So i will be using my own 2 feet.

I did have a go laugh with my equally heavy best friend about this.

Be good.

I went to the Grand Canyon a couple of years ago and it was awesome! I couldn't do the mule ride either, though because of the weight limit :( But we had fun anyways. Bring lots of sunscreen. I went in March and figured the sun wouldn't be too hot that time of year, but I got sunburned. I'm sure it's worse in August. Have a great time!

Yes, you're right. That is "the WORST reason to lose weight EVER." No argument there.
