Hi Cara,

Welcome to the boards! I like Walk away the Pounds by Leslie Sansone, but I've recently been getting into the FIRM tapes which are much more challenging! I can only do so much of them at a time, but I figure if I keep it up, pretty soon I'll be able to do a whole tape at a time. Do you have any favorites, or are you just starting out and trying to find something to get you started? If you're just starting out, I recommend Leslie Sansone's Walk away the Pounds because although it's challenging, the moves aren't difficult to do. There's a lot of knee lifts and kick backs, but nothing too complicated. Good luck!

It's a tie for me between Tae bo and I Want that Body by Tamilee Webb. I like Tae bo (pretty much all of the ones I've tried but right now I've started doing the get ripped advanced but Cardio and Flex are good too) I''ve tried some other kickboxing workouts because I thought I'd like them since I've taking a couple real kickboxing and boxing classes (not the aerobic ones but actual sport ones), but a lot of the other tapes' instructors didn't really seem motivating to me. I have the Kathy Smith Kickboxing which is a good workout if I'm motivated to get through it but everyone is just so monotone and looks rather bored so I often have to just stop the tape and move onto someo ther workout because it acks the motivational factor. Tae bo also is more about working your mind as well as body, and the Tai Chi type cool down thing that I initially thought was really cheesy is actually very relaxing when you push that cheesiness out of your head and just go with it. ANd even when I start to get tired I feel I can do more and usually have even more energy afterwards even though I got a tough workout thats almost an hour long. The only thing is the reps aren't always even so sometimes I reverse the direction I go on that day so I can even it out more (Cardio is better at working both sides similiarly) and the spandex in the Get Ripped Video lol. ANd they actually show their exercisers taking water breaks and use real people so you feel like you can do more of it and don't feel inadequate cause you need that water break since you see some of them struggling with a move here and there too.

For toning I love Tamilee Webb's I Want that Body DVD version. I mean the moves and all are so simple and basic for most of it (some are tough-especially the abs section) but they are combined in a sequence that really works and I still feel them no matter how much I do the tape (just add weights when the moves become easier). Especially for the abs which I usually would just do alone because most of the ab tapes didn't seem to do much except in like 1 or 2 exercises. But with this tape I actually feel it and see results. And the butt part (especially the 2nd workout) is the first workout I really ever felt in my butt -usually I just feel them in my quads even with correct form since you work to your weaker muscle (quads in my case I guess) I would always fatigue my quads before ever getting to the point of really feeling it in my butt even though its working (even with all the Firm Fanny Lifter stuff). Plus I like that its more concentrated strength than the Firm where I would have to do a bunch more exercises after the tape to work some of the muscles that were left out and you can choose 15 minute segments or 30 minutes or do all of it together (about an hour). And for most of the exercises it also tells you why its working so it helps you better understand correct form and how it should feel. The only thing I can think of bad about the DVD is that it should also include a back section (some is with the arms though).
