hi it's good to be back. I am unfortunately barely working these days. i was told by the doctor who reviewed my mri that my body is not meant for heavy manual labor. lol. he actually said that. I only work a few days a month. I am still in pain and continue to have my hands and sometimes my legs go numb briefly. I guess it's time to look into a new career, but with 3 kids my only option is looking into teaching so i can be home with the kids after school and during summer. I may ease back into taking classes in the fall to at least get my a.s. degree done with. Its hard to give up the money, as average with tips a lot. I have been very bummed over my dog"barney's" passing. I had him before i had any kids. He mad it almost to 14 ,which is old for a large dog. we were paying a 100 a month in pain meds and thyroid meds to keep him going, he was my shadow following me from room to room. I want to add his pic to my web page, along with a pic of me when I get back down to 199....again. Hubby is helping me to save money to purchase my first show dog pup(conformation)another australian shepherd. The breeder is expected to breed her dog in late spring so pups should be ready in september. Im going to train this one to be a therapy dog as well. My other aussie i had been using as a therapy dog, but she won't visit with men, and i would like to take a dog into the local nursing home in town. I would be more than happy to help you kick my butt and yours, lol. your within 20 pounds of your goal weight though right? thats not too shabby, you at least didnt gain like me. Are you interested in building up to running? I couldnt run when i was skinny but im thinking of trying to now to burn calories faster. It's a lot harder for us to lose I think because when we first started exercising at our old weight it made it easier to burn calories faster. now, its harder because we have to up our cardio intensity in order to get the same results. we end up working harder and getting less bang for our buck. It is easy to get discouraged when im walking the treadmill and it says based on my weight, it shows im burning a 100 less calories an hour. Anyway that's why im thinking of running to try andburn more calories. jenz

hi again, i have dsl and im waiting forever to post too. basicly my doctor said i dont have any major injuries. But, i have portions around my spine that are constricted and i have very little spinal fluid in those areas to absorb and protect me from getting major injuries. any little inflamation from heavy lifting, or brushing out my dogs, therefore causes nerves to be pinched off which in turns causes my left arm(im a lefty) and portions of my legs and feet to briefly go numb or ache. that is why the doctor said that im not built for heavy blue collar work. As far as my weight goes i have unfortunetely gone from 199 up to 208.5 as of last sat. This morning im down to 205. so ive lost 3 1/2 pounds since last saturday. Im re-committing to hit the gym 4 days a week. I had stopped going as often when i was first hurt, and boy did I notice a HUGE difference in my energy level. It dropped way down. As far as running goes, i got winded when i was a size five and weighed 120. Im not a big fan of running, but it bugs me that I can't do it. jenz
