I've always wanted to try rollerblades, but I'm too chicken! I haven't done any kind of skating in probably at least 15 years, if not more. I don't know how it would look for a 39 year old to learn how to skate. I'd probably look ridiculous! But it does seem like it would be fun. It looks like good exercise so have fun with them!

I LOVE rollarblades. I got the very first set available when I was in 8th grade (yes, they've been out that long!)

i don;'t think rollar blading is that hard, but i can see how someone who was used to ice skates have trouble because they are not as flexible with their movement as ice skates are.

Hey Shawna- I have a REALLY weak left ankle (broke it once, sprained it lots, and broke the left leg 3 times) and my right ankle is not so great either (just lotsa sprains- haven't broken it). I use one of those ankle/foot ace bandage thingies when I skate or rollerblade....and when I play sports sometimes just in case. At first I joked I was just pre-treating the inevitable sprain, but it actually provides support and I haven't sprained it while skating yet. Walking however...that's a different story. I wear knee braces when I play sports too because they're not so great either and after my knee surgery I am reluctant to risk expensive "fixed" knees without protection.

Maybe wrapping it would help your ankles?
