My bills are paid! My bills are paid!

YAY! Rob and I got our taxes back and not only did we catch up on everything we were behind in, but we also paid everything a month ahead! I was SO HAPPY! He's only had 2 regular checks since Thanksgiving- lack of work was leading to shorter days and we were getting behind on things. But it's all better now, and we have emergency money left in the bank even AFTER our weekend spending spree (more about that in next paragraph).

Saturday we went to dinner and rented movies. I was SO good. I had cajun chicken and salad and 3 glasses of water with lemon. Sunday we drove to Rockford (about an hour away) and had brunch at IHOP (I had machaca, pretty low in carbs). We shopped all day, and I was so happy! Rob bought me the rest of the Stephanie Plum books I wanted and I read them already. (LOVED THEM) He also bought me DDRMAX2 (dance dance revolution game) and a dance pad for it (ON SALE! The game was 18 bucks and the pad was 20- I LOVE sales!). We took the kids to a health fair and had photo id's made of them. We bought them a movie and a few things they asked for, rollerblades and helmets and knee and elbow pads. (They used to have those things but they were lost in our house fire last year) We bought the stuff to get MY computer networked and set up so I don't have to share with Rob anymore. (THANK GOODNESS!) Rob got a computer game called Age of Mythology and a ram chip for his computer. Yesterday I rented a rug shampooer and got my carpets cleaned, bought a shelf that I wanted, some gardening supplies, some groceries, some kitchen plants (basil, oregano, thyme, garlic chives and rosemary- my kitchen smells like an Italian restaurant!), and some pet care products. We also bought stuff for the kids' Easter baskets and put some things on Layaway for Ramey's bday in May.

Life is good.

Like I said, in case you don't read so well, was that we have plenty of money in the bank now, and all of our bills are paid ahead. We didn't spend the money on lottery tickets or bingo, and my idea of squandering is apparently much different than yours. My family being able to enjoy a few new items isn't SQUANDERING in my book. The bills are all paid, therefore, no more financial problems or concerns. There's plenty of money set aside IN CASE of emergency, therefore, no more financial problems or concerns. With the exception of our home, which we rent, everything we have we own flat out, no payments, no interest, and no loans waiting to be paid off. No financial problems or concerns. I will NOT feel badly for indulging responsibly, when for quite a while we've been unable to do so. I will NOT feel badly for replacing the fun gear my children have done without since it went up in flames 2 weeks before Christmas last year. Nor will I feel badly about my husband being able to purchase electronic equipment he's wanted for a while and done without, or for him thinking I am important enough to him that he wants me to have things that I've wanted as well. In fact, I still feel darn good about our entire weekend. I also know if I fall down the stairs and break my leg in 20 minutes, I have the money IN CASH to pay the hospital bill with some leftover. That's good enough for me.

Obviously you haven't seen nor read the majority of this particular posters posts.Because then you would understand where I was coming from.I don't know of a single person who has no flaws or habits, except for the very people that choose to come here and rather then support the others here, they demean, bash, and truely harm the intent that this board is meant for....therefore,they must be gods/esses since they know it all and wish to prove that here.
