I was so happy to find this board! And it is so inspriring reading the posts and how far you all have come. I hope a support group will be my missing link and I will be able to lose weight once and for all!!

My name is jess, I am 24 and a stay at home mom to my 2 1/2 year old son. We live in cleveland, ohio. I started gaining weight after I met my husband and gained way too much during my pregnancy. I have been working out everyday and have made changes in my diet. This is my 4th week on a modified Dr. Phil plan. I have lost 10 lbs so far. I feel so much better since I have been working out. My biggest problem is eating. I can't seem to break this bad habit of eating when I am upset about something. On Sunday I made some new goals for myself I was so pumped up and I did great on monday, but now my sister and I are arguing and it just upsets me so.....I had PANCAKES for lunch ....you heard me right PANCAKES with butter and syrup!!!! Now I am so mad, but I am going to go workout right now and then i will feel better. Well, I look forward to getting to know you all better. And if you have any suggestions about my emotional eating...let me know!

Hi Jess and Welcome. Glad you've made some positive changes to live a healthy life. Congrats on the loss so far. You'll find a lot of great ladies with a vast amount of support, knowledge and wisdom here. Don't worry about falling off the wagon with the pancake thing (I've had a few pancakes for lunch before in my time). Just make sure you get back on. You're on the right track that your realize that you use food for comfort when something bad happens, now you have to control a bit better. But we're here for you and I look forward to you posting!

Hi Jess, welcome to the boards! I hope that you find this to be your missing link as well. It seems to have been for me. I find that since I've been coming here I've stuck to my weight loss efforts much better than I ever did alone. Glad to have you here and congratulations on your loss so far!

hi i'm latasha and i'm fairly new to this board also. i just wanted to say welcome and you will find there is great support here. keep up the work towards your weight loss. everybody has bad days. i know i do. when i feel i'm about to make an unwise choice concerning my eating habits i pray or put on some music that makes me feel good. it helps to focus and if that doesn't work i weigh the pros and cons of what will happen if i slip up. i'm seeing results that i didn't think were possible and all it took was a little faith in me. you can do this just pace yourself. anywho welcome and feel free to ask any questions you may have. have a better day.

Hi Jess! Glad you found us!!

I'm Jessica too...(I think that's 3 of us now), I'm from OH, originally NY..I work ft and have a 10 y/o dd.

Since January I've been eating right and exercising but haven't seen any weight come off. However, I lost quite a few inches. This week I decided to give Atkins a try. So far it's quite a struggle for me and I'm at wits end trying to get these lbs to go away! But I'm not giving up, no matter what! And the girls and guy(s) here are wonderful for support or a swift kick in the butt..depending on the kinda day your having. :D

Congrats on your success so far! Hope you stick around!

Jessica
