It is getting so hard to distinguish which personality is real or our lovely "friend"...I don't want to jump anyones bones if they aren't our one certain "friend"(well I wont anyway as I don't want to get kicked off here but I can be subtle about being nasty right?!)

I think I have a trained eye for it now.

I'm getting a little paranoid here :-) I responded to a post yesterday about working out and not losing weight - specifically I was responding to someone who was saying that the original poster probably needs to cut calories, and I was discussing the possible values of exercise alone (boost metablolism, burn calories, etc). Well, my post doesn't seem to be there anymore...so knowing that I am new, and that you have a troll problem, I started to worry that someone took offense to my post, assumed I was a troll, and pulled it. Okay, now that I've said it, it really does sound awfully paranoid, and I probably just forgot to hit the second "post" screen or something...but it is really too bad that these sorts of things, unavoidable on a public board, do end up distracting us from our real purpose, isn't it?

I saw in one of the threads that they appeared to be writing to one another (I mean, writing back to itself). That cracked me up. Writing a post and then responding to it under a different name. That gave me a good laugh.

Oh well, guess its just a "diversion" we'll have to deal with every now and again.

Ugh!

I know what you guys mean- I am becoming overly paranoid too. For example, my first experience with the lovely "it" was when it was calling itself "christmasman" in german. Then there were several winter and/or nature references in other trolly names. I even went so far in my observation as to think since one of the names means reborn, and reborn means baptised, and people are baptised in Christ, and Christmas celebrates Christ so there's the connection! LOL! I must say I was confused by the headwear personality, and surprised that the picture of trolling perfection mispelled a word in it's sun and moon persona name....but it must be exhausting to know EVERYTHING and maybe that word was just a little too hard. Or perhaps it meant to endear itself to us by showing a human flaw before it began attempting to unravel the good we've done for outselves. Or, it's decided that predictability is overrated and it needed to throw us off a bit. Our trolls seem to all have the same vocabulary, same writing style, grammar and syntax, and very similar or exact opinions on everything, even when talking to themselves/each other/whatever. They ask the same rhetorical questions, make the same asinine comments, open ended statements, and tend to be incredibly predictable in their responses and arguments. Oh, and they always know everything. I have to admit, I lose my temper sometimes. But it's more out of a desire to defend than a desire to retaliate. If I respond I always write two- the one I DON'T post because I'd get kicked off of ivillage, and the one I DO post which tends to be less volatile and angry. Usually. I guess the one true troll test is to let Shawna post something positive and wait for it to take it's strange, crazy and absolutely absurd grudge against her into the open. Then can we shoot it? Figuratively speaking, of course. (innocent expression.....concealed weapon)

If you were deleted, then I honestly think it was a mistake.

You impress me, Mel. Good job on your analysis. I'd say it was right on the mark and beautifully written! You always do this, too. *smile*

Well Done

I find it sad that a certain one/ones keep coming on this board under diff names. It's a pity that their life revolves around finding ways to put down people on and remembering what we've sad to use against us. On the other hand i am sure that some of the rude new posts aren't the same old pest but just a rude person like the other. I don't expect to agree/like everyone on a public board like this so instead of thinking of them as trolls i just think of them as rude a$$es and try to ignore and reply to post i like..lol..but tis hard at times ;)
