Exercise Map Challenge in 2 weeks....

k, if no one minds, I am going to start gathering data for this.

What I need- if you'd like to participate (and the more of us who participate the more fun it is!)- is an email with your name and location- mine would be Melody, Dixon, IL.

ms_wings77@comcast.net

I have a map jpeg and I can mess with it to make it appropriate for our purposes. I have a great route planner program I can use to keep track of destinations and such.

And in case any of you missed it, here's how it works.

Every minute of exercise counts as 1 mile. We choose a starting point, and "travel" together from location to location. When we arrive at a member's "home" that person becomes our host(ess), and introduces us to their family, area, and tells us about where they live. It's a way to work on our exercise, and get to know each other better. I am really looking forward to it.

Hope you all join up. Our boot camp challenge will really get us in gear for it.

You can post your name, location here if you'd rather not mess with email.

I need some votes here- one of our reg members lives in Japan. That's a heck of a lot of dog paddling to get across that ocean! HOWEVER- she's offered to let us use her hometown or where she's moving to when she returns to the states. This is an EASIER idea, but I want to know what you guys think. I would be very interested in learning about Okinawa, and if we wanted I am sure when it's her turn to "hostess" she can tell us about it whether we're counting her in the states or across the ocean. EDIT* It's been suggested that we could go to LA and then "fly" to Okinawa. That would save us about 6000 exercise minutes. LOL!

But let's hear some suggestions- what sounds good to you guys?

uh dude? ... how far is Okinawa, Japan, from the sunny South Carolina coast?

i suppose since i'm here i'll go ahead and put my name in the hat to participate.

Serena, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina

and do we add all of our min together for the total "mile" we travel each week/day whatever?

Mel, I just sent you an email.

As far as our friend in Japan, I would love to hear about Okinawa, also. Those are both good ideas as to whether to use her US home, or use LA and "fly" there. I'm open to either suggestion.

she actually said boots...but thanks for pointing it out to me.

no, i am not doing the challenge though i didn't think that was a prerequiste to read the posts.

i doubt it would be easy since it is roughly a 4 hour drive to where she is compared to me. texas is a bit bigger than the average

It wouldn't be too hard Karrie- about 241 minutes of exercise ;-)

You sure you don't want to do the challenge? I think it's going to be fun. I'm working on the map now.... (insert cajoling, mildly persuasive tone)
