Hello all! I weight 210, and want to get down to my normal 130lbs. I see all these good diet stragies, and they are all about eating what they want you to eat! I do not have the money, as I am a young mother with two young kids, and I want to lose the weight badly. I just started working out three times a day, crunches and the normal starting out of thighs, buts etc that I found in the Cosmopolitan. I feel the muscles in my stomach tightening, but how do I go about trying to lose the rolls of fat and the love handles! Thank you so much for taking the time to read this and reply. Its so impressing to see that you all have lost weight and and inspirational that if you can then I can toO!! Thank again!!

Building muscle is also important because muscle burns fat. The more muscle you have the more fat you will burn, even when resting. Try alternating days where you do cardio and maybe resistance bands (as they are inexpensive for muscle toning).

I definitely agree that building muscle is important, but that will also naturally happen when your doing cardio work.

I hear you. Don't worry. Losing weight doesn't have to be expensive. The food idea, have you looked into getting 2nd hand weight watchers books off ebay? You could do WW-at-home. I think that would have the best variety of foods for you.

Judging by your nickname...are you really in Calgary? I'm just outside of Red Deer. Do you have any cardio videos at home? If you don't, e-mail me (by clicking on my nickname and then choosing the 'e-mail me' option), I have a solution for you! Do you have a local Avon lady? For beginners weight training, you can buy the resistance band with the two handles on either end. I think they were only $15 through Avon. I bought one and kinda like it. It's a nice change.

Hop on the board!

We're on this journey with you.
