stretchy skin...

So I've been really pathetic up to this point in the exercise arena. I do get some but not nearly as much as I should. These challenges are great but they're not working for me for whatever reason.

Anyway, I am slowly getting more motivated to come up with some plan because as I lose more weight I am paranoid that my skin is going to become loose. I am especially worried about my belly. Does anyone know if there are exercises to help bring back the elasticity of your skin? I mean besides surgery I don't know what to do! Will just doing crunches or ab/back strengthing exercises help with that??

I really need to get on track with this...any advice or ideas are gladly accepted!!

Hi,

Exercise won't help bring elasticity back to your skin, I'm afraid. It will help you get a really nice, tight body, but the degree to which your skin 'bounces back' depends on:

Your age

How many pounds overweight you are

If you smoke, drink (both dehydrate you)

Your skin type/ethnic background

Genes

It is what it is. Don't worry about things you can't control. Lose the weight and see what happens. Getting extra skin removed if it comes to that is a "reward" if you ask me--you'll look and feel great.
