First, let me introduce myself to the board. My name is Cindy, I'm 21yo. and yes I have 100 pounds or more to go.

I need to get into the habit of exercising every day. The problem is that at this time, we don't have the money to buy any equiptment or memberships to local gyms. Does anyone know of an at-home program that really works, but I don't need to invest any money into.

Thank you!

One of the best things you can do is walk. you can also rent exercise videos at the library. If you find one you really like then you can buy it. My program is 3 days a week cardio exercise video and 2 days a week stregnth training video(weights) and then 2 days a week pilates video. It seems to be working for me. If you have a bike you can always ride your bike or go swimming. I hope this gives you some ideas. sharla

Hi and Welcome! Yep, that's what I was gonna say...walking. It's getting nicer outside everywhere and it's the best form of exercise for most people. I also do crunches at home. I started off only being able to about 15 or so but now have worked my way up to 50/day. You can also cruise your cable channels to see if there are any exercise shows...there used to be a ton a long time ago. Good luck on your journey!

Hi Cindy,

You are all the **equipment** that you really need! Find something you like, and then do it consistently. Do you like to walk? Put on a pair of shoes (you don't even need special walking shoes right now, anything will do) and get out in the sunshine and go for a walk. Do that consistently, and you've got an exercise "program." Of course, you might want to do something else instead. Enjoy swimming? Do that. Whatever it is, try to do it for a little while each day.

When I started I just worked up to 30 minute walk 5 days a week. There was my "exercise program." The thing is consistency. Start it, and keep it up.
