Need a hug and a pep talk

I just looked at DS's soccer schedule. His first game is next Sunday, April 4th. My DH is his coach. I noticed that the team we are playing is coached by DH's ex-wife's cousin's husband. (Got that?!)

Now I really don't know these people. Met them last year on the soccer fields when they saw DH and started talking to him and he introduced me. The ex-wife's cousin stared at me like I was a farm animal.

What your DH's ex has going for her is looks and that's NOTHING in the grand scheme of things. She's obviously not got what you have, or she wouldn't be his ex. I understand feeling this way, but you've got to know that you're NOT a cow, and while her fam can think what they want, they don't have anything going for them either if they can't see the vibrance and beauty and love of life that we all see. Don't let them make you feel like YOU should leave, if they're that shallow they don't deserve to be in YOUR presence.

My kids are both going to play soccer too. I can't wait!

Deb, you are who you are...and if anything, you should be sticking your tongue out (not really hehe) and thinking "Looks arent everything".

Not to mention that you've lost 41 POUNDS!! Okay, I'll bring the shallow side into it...lol.

I agree with all the other ladies too though...

But come on...you've lost over 40 pounds...even *they* will notice that! And really, if they are that shallow then just be thankful you only have to see them occasionally and it's not his sister or someone you are more obligated to see.

You are a wonderful person and we all love you...so to he!! with them! ;o)

Big hugs to ya!

Deb,

I can't really tell you any more than the others did, except that I agree with them 100%. Your DH chose to be with you, and you should be proud of that. I'm sure that he's proud to be with you, and that's all that matters.

Deb,

The ex-wife may be fit at 125, but the fact still remains that she is the EX-wife, and ex for a reason. Your husband chose YOU to spend the rest of his life with, which is probably why the relatives feel such a need to report back to base about you...they're trying to figure out your secret ;) Keep up the mystique, continue to love yourself, and in the process you'll find the scale gradually slipping down to your goal weight. We know you can do it! Hugs and good luck!
