hi, my name is sharon and i am so happy i found this board. i am loseing weight and would like some support on the way down and i have a lot to lose. i started at 311 and now weigh 279 1/2. i have ben walking on the beach most everyday with my husband, i live in washington state, so that is my way of exersizeing. i would like to know if anyone here walks also to lose weight. i am on a diabetic exchange diet as i have diabetis and i am 56. so please help me stay motivated to do this. thanks

Hi Sharon and welcome to the board! I think you'll find lots of support here to help you stay focused on your goals. Losing weight can be really hard, but I think it makes a big difference when you can share with others-you know you're not alone. I'm only here about a month myself but I know it's helped me.
Congratulations on the weight loss so far-a great accomplishment! Walking is a really good exercise and along with the weight loss I'm sure the diabetes will improve-my blood sugar really has.

I'm in Washington too! :o) Sounds like maybe you're on the coast?? I'm in Tacoma.
Walking is my exercise of choice...but I am hit and miss on it. Mostly I'm chasing my 3 yo daughter around...lol.
