I am my SIL's wedding planner- the big day is Aug 21. We're doing it all from scratch, on a shoestring budget. I could use ANY AND ALL suggestions for favors, decoration ideas, music, costsaving, etc.

She's gotten her dress, the church, and the hall taken care of. Whew. The flower girls' dresses and one ring bearer's dress are sage, and are taken care of, and the bridesmaids are taken care of now, too. There are 2 flower girls, 2 ringbearers (a boy and a girl), and 3 bridesmaids and groomsmen. We got the little girls' gowns at Target for 20 apiece and they are BEAUTIFUL!

The bridesmaids gowns are at www.davidsbridal.com - at the bottom right where it says style # it is 4456, and the color is celadon if anyone is interested.

We plan to use fake flowers (kind undetermined). There will be a unity candle ceremony.

Help is GREATLY appreciated!

Hugs,

Mel

Mel,

Check out the Dollar Stretcher website (www.stretcher.com). They have a whole bunch of articles on weddings.

Good luck

I don't really have much to offer, but for my best friends wedding, she bought these little bubbles at Wal-mart, and glued little doves to the top.......she also decorated them with ribbon she'd bought at the dollar store, and made little labels with their (her and her fiance's) name on them on her computer.

We went shopping this weekend and made a lot of progress! The bridal bouquet will be a sunflower surrounded by daisies, lilies, and white roses. The bridesmaids will carry a sunflower surrounded by lilies. There will be some simple light green and pale yellow ribbon hanging from the bouquets. I made hair combs for the bridesmaids and flower girls' hair- clear combs with three sunflowers attached to the top. The flower girls will carry wooden baskits rimmed with tiny sunflowers.

We picked up a few centerpieces- they are flat sunflowers with a fairy in a pastel gown perched on the edge of each one. Still looking for more, though. We are also looking at getting "aged-looking" small watering cans and putting flowers in them as well. We're going to use the unity candle flowers- sunflowers and daisies- to decorate the bridal table as well. We've found strings of garland that has daisies and sunflowers to use with tulle to make swags at the hall. The church is a simple country church and I don't think we're going to decorate it much, except for candles in the windows. The reception will be at the town hall. The meal will be prepared by the women of our family, and served buffet style. We haven't yet decided how to do the arrangement of tables. We have two floors rented, but I think we want to have most of the action taking place on ONE floor so people don't miss it. Not sure about that yet.

The invitations have a picture of the happy couple, surrounded by daisies. The programs have a picture of them each separately, with a pretty verse on the front.

So far this is all we have firmed up- still open for suggestions if you have any!

Hugs

Mel
