I agree with Shawna. I've never tried diet pills because they scare me. I keep hearing how they keep pulling them off the shelves because they can be harmful. But, I don't want to discourage you if you really want to try something. Just make sure you do your research and it probably wouldn't hurt to talk to your doctor about it. Good luck!

If you're meaning, by "good products," weight loss pills and gimmicks....I never use the stuff. The best products are found in the produce department of your local grocery store, or better yet (if you have one open this early) a local produce stand. Just eat the healthy stuff, eat by colors, and get plenty of exercise (or even a little). It doesn't take weight loss gimmicks to lose weight and, in fact, some can actually hurt you.

I have a few suggestions for supplements...I have tried prescription pills in the past and they aren't useful for me. However, there are a couple of safe herbal alternatives that I've had some success with (with the usual disclaimer to discuss anything like this with your own doctor). Green tea is great - it has been study proven to boost metabolism, plus having a whole host of other good nutrients in it. If you are just drinking the tea, you need about 9 cups a day to get the recommended dose - so I take it in pill form. There are even a couple of multivitamins that now come with it, speaking of which - make sure that you are taking a multi. In addition to helping make up any possible gaps in your diet, I've seen some research that they also boost metabolism as much as 4%. I also take an Omega-3 fatty acid supplement, which you might want to consider if you don't eat a lot of fatty-fish. It's another essential nutrient, that has also been linked to weight loss. Lastly, make sure you are getting enough calcium - if skipping dairy is part of your diet, take a supplement as calcium has also been strongly linked to weight loss. One supplement to avoid is anything linked to Ephedra. The FDA took Ma Huang off the market do to heart irregularities etc, but there are still some ephedra relatives with similar side effects that are still out there - I know one that is included in some weight loss products is Bitter Orange.

Congrats on your weight loss thus far..that is an amazing feat in itself....If you are referring to diet pills I would strongly strongly dissuade you from going that route with good personal reason .

When I was 24 I had a heart attack . I was in ICU for several days and they never gave me an exact answer on WHY it happened...just told me to stop taking any kind of diet pills and to lose weight . I found out just recently that something I had taken for about

A GREAT BIG THANK YOU !!!!! I have been trying to get something that will give me a little bit more energy and a friend told me about that "DHEA". I have been on the internet all damn day trying to find some concrete research on it, and haven't had much luck until opening your message by accident. You have really saved my life. Seriously, I read it an hopped on the phone to my friend and told her about it. Oh my god!! I am so sorry to hear about your misfortune, and just like you said if it sounds to good to be true, it is!!!!!

I am looking in to some other products. Maybe you can help me.... ?

They are Q-10 an Antioxidant Chromium Fat burner Glutamine Amino acid.

I have about 20 more pounds to lose and I have done everything from, cutting back on my eatting to running an extra 2 miles aday. Along with lifting and cardio.

If you cant help me I understand you have done enough for me already.

Thanks Again!!!!

No, not at all. The government doesn't regulate the claims, or the quality, of any such products or of vitamins (for that matter), so it's really a matter of "buyer beware."
