My mom just called me on my cell and told me that my kitty died. We couldn't find her last night--somebody hit her and she was near my drive-way. I have had her since I was in the 5th grade...stupid idiots who don't stop when they hit a family pet should be shot in the head....so I am going tomorrow 3 hours away to bury her at my grandma's house where my sister's 16 year old cat was buried last fall.

What's worse is that I should have paid more attention to her...I should have spent more time with her and pet her more...man..i gotta stop--I am starting to cry...I will never have children b/c if they died, i couldn't handle it....

Oh Sara...I am so sorry. I totally agree about people not stopping when they hit a family pet. It's just bad karma.

I saw someone hit a cat recently and then they just kept going. I did a u-turn and went back to 1. move the cat out of the middle of the street and 2. see if I could find the family. I actually flagged down a car to help me...I couldn't just leave that poor kitty alone. It was still alive but I don't know if it made it. The owners lived across the street from where it was hit and we were able to get the cat into a box and the guy was going to take it to the vet. I felt so sorry for them and I can't imagine NOT stopping. The other car that I stopped probably thought I was a freak but he was really nice and stayed with me until we figured out who the owners were.

Big hugs...and may your sweet kitty rest in peace.

I'm so sorry about your kitty. You provided her with a home, food and love and she had a wonderful life with you. Focus on the good times to help you get through this difficult time.

i am so sorry about your cat. I know I would feel the same if something happened to my kitty. A few years ago I thought she was lost and I was so upset that I had to leave work. I really do feel for you. sharla

Sara,

Really sorry for the loss of your kitty. I can only imagine your grief. I've had dogs for most of my life and had to bury them when the time came. I think there's always some guilt, but you loved her so and she knew it.

I'm sorry you lost your kitty. I lost my cat to illness, not an accident, but it did feel like I'd lost a big part of me. I'm sure your kitty knew that you loved her, though. I think they just know. Maybe it's their memories. Who knows. Anyway, my thoughts are with you...
