I am honestly not trying to fight with you here. It is just an issue that is terribly close to my heart and I can't help wanting to try and convey that your seatbelt is so important. I obviously have offended you, and I am sorry. I find the choices we made in our icons so interesting considering the route this exchange has taken. KSAS

Absolutely. I can't imagine how anyone could be so lacking in self-esteem as to think their life is worthless, to want to die in an accident and leave this earth before her time. You are absolutely right, and I want to thank you for putting it into words so eloquently. Life is too precious NOT to buckle up. And why anyone wouldn't value themselves more highly, wouldn't take the time to clip that buckle before starting a car...it's sad, and unfantomable.

Beer on a diet, 150 useless calories which will only add to your problems not solve them.

The next time don't use a tone of attack. It is her choice what she does. It is not what I do nor do I allow anyone in my car to break that law...adults and children. But you see she is an adult and she has that right.

It wasn't prattle. She asked some serious questions. Is this how you ALWAYS respond, with insults to another person, when you (surely must) know you're wrong. It's sad.

Her "choice" (as you put it) effects others lives, including any lives of those who care about her.....and anyone else involved in an accident with her if she's not wearing a seatbelt. It's not just a matter of "individual choice" when that choice has an impact on society as a whole (everyone's insurance rates for one), as well as the lives of other people. Whether to eat steak or vegetarian is "choice." Whether to act irresponsibly behind the wheel of a car is not just a "personal choice." Driving is a privilege, not a right....and that privilege involves obeying laws for the public good. It's not an option, a matter of personal choice or whim. It's an OBLIGATION to obey the law. I hope her state has a mandatory revoking of license, one that tears won't work her way out of, if she continues to drive without seat belts. Anyone who doesn't buckle up has no business on the road.

Just so you know, whenever I hear about people dying because they weren't wearing a seatbelt...I LAUGH.

Darwinism at its finest.
