And I'll probably get blasted and all that but I have to ask.

Why is there so much animosity toward "skinny people" on this board?

I don't understand why people have no problem saying how snotty and judgemental skinny people are when they are being just as snotty and judgemental *toward* skinny people.

Why do you hate what you want to become? how do you know that skinny person isn't a formerly fat person? How do you know they are looking at you disgusted?

I know it's hard to imagine but skinny people have just as many body issues as fat people. It took me a long time to realize that...for a long time I wanted to smack the girls that said, "I hate this belly" as they lifted their shirt to reveal a perfectly fine "belly". But as women, we are taught to aim for unattainable perfection that doesn't exist.

I just think it's funny that so many people have a problem with skinny people when it is our goal to become "skinny".

JMHO...

How, in any way, was I debating the skinny post? I supported the op in that she made a salient point regarding body image issues. PERIOD. I was not casting aspersions on any one on this board, rather I was speaking of women in general. We spend a hell of a lot of time picking each other apart rather than saying we are women first...if only we could direct all this anger at the pedophiles and rapists of the world! I am sorry my being thin and having the audacity to actually "support" a post on this board has so deeply offended you. Perhaps you could contact a CM and let them know that only those who meet your criteria of not "skinny" should be allowed to post. When you reach your goal weight I certainly hope you apply your rules to yourself and cease and desist posting to this board. In fact if you are already within 100 lbs of your goal perhaps that time is now...as it is 100+ to go. As for me, I will continue to post when and where I like despite the nasty replies I have gotten from some here.

Sorry, but how did you assume I was blasting my dietician because she was skinny ? That was a descriptive observation. I think I had posted somewhere else that while making the appointment over the phone with her, I got a mental image of what she looked like. And I was dead on, with the exception of the hair color. I think I have it on the Anti-Diet Board under the post " The Sound Of One Head Banging".

I don't care if she is skinny, but HER assumption was that I was there to see her is because I wanted to lose weight. She did not know I had lost over 90 pounds in four years. When I told her I was losing weight just fine and told her I needed assistance in getting my cholesterol levels down, she STILL rambled on about my weight, and wanted to see me at an UNHEALTHY 135 pounds.

Maybe I should make the assumption that skinny people are DEAF.

How is being 'sinewy like a gazelle' a disparaging remark ? She's a RUNNER. They are sinewy. I wouldn't mind being a bit sinewy. The problem is, the more I spoke with my dietician, the more she pushed me towards looking just like her. And she advocated running.. maybe she thinks she is the epitome of what women should look like, I don't know. She was just one of those 'skinny' people treating me in a condescending manner that seems to be a source of contention for most. And when I said I poked the weasel, that is just an expression of instigating/aggravating something that is fiesty and bitey and potentially dangerous. I was not really inferring that she was a weasel because of her body.

Sorry you misinterpreted that.

OK, this one is my mistake. I was searching for your posts on this board because I knew you'd only recently started posting. I pulled up one from the seatbelt debate and because of the text, thought that it was in the FIRST skinny bashing post (not this one, but the one that prompted this one to start).

Here's the post I'm talking about:

Thanks for clearing that up bugnugget. I understand your frustration with your dietician--I think I would have described her as narrow-minded for thinking she should be the example of what all people should strive for. There is no "one size" for everyone. But after reading your post again, I have to admit that "weasel" is much more visually descriptive than "narrow-minded". :)

I did not follow this troll here. Perhaps it was before your time but we had a certain poster on here, the atkins board, and ask the healthy eating expert who "made it". To avoid tos violation I will not type her entire name(S) but she was a patriotic "pie" and managed to lose 100 lbs in 4 months. Allegedly. This was 6-9 months ago and she is most certainly not the current troll who is on this board, the writing styles are not even similar. But she gave us fits on atkins with her "cardiologist" husband. Let's just say it was fascinating reading as she stormed through the boards. As for the rest, I think my reply was in keeping with the tone you began with in regards to this thread. I did nothing to spark your outrage and spitefulness. And I am fairly certain, if others felt like putting up with your attacks, they would agree with me.
