Weight loss on hold!

So I posted a few months back here ladies. Things never got off the ground because I am a slacker and I readily admit it!;)

Anyhoo.... I just found out that I'm going to have a BABY! So any type of calorie reduction is going to have to go on hold. I don't want to gain more than 15-20 pounds though. Any suggestions?

Is there a board here for overweight AND pregnant? Thanks for your help!

Wow!!! I just looked at your webpage and you look AWESOME!!! I don't know what the story is with the trolls but don't listen to them. They're morons! And probably envious overweight ones who can't shed a pound. So ignore, ignore, ignore!

Anyways, I am 7 weeks pregnant so it's early and we don't even know if there's a heartbeat yet. We've been trying for a while with no luck. Apparently this time though the "swimmers" knew what they were looking for. Yea! So hopefully this will be as healthy a pregnancy as the first one.

I'll check around for a board. Maybe I'll consult a nutritionist. Thanks!

You ask about suggestions for overweight and pregnant. The only suggestion I would offer at this point is TO FOLLOW YOUR DOCTOR'S ADVICE TO THE LETTER. You want to be healthy, and have a healthy baby, and certainly the doctor should determine your diet and how much you should gain (or lose) and how to go about it during pregnancy. This is one time when I definitely wouldn't take random advice from message boards, or well-meaning friends and relatives, or misc. books. It really is too important to you, and to the future of your forming baby. So please listen to your doctor and follow instructions.....and the very, very best to you! Congrats! What a happy time.

I just read your post and CONGRATS!!

I'm sure your OB can put you on a plan that allows you so much flexibility. I would suggest you keep exercising since it is known that exercising does release endorphins which helps with pain and mood.

I wish I knew of a message board for you. Though this is a great and blessed time, I don't blame you for looking for others who are going down the same road you are.

Again, congrats to you and daddy too. What a blessing!!

Congratulations!!!I hope you have a happy and healthy pregnancy =) As for message boards, there is a Pregnant and overweight message board on Parents Place. It's always nice to be able to talk to others who are in the same situation, and there are always tips on where to buy comfy clothes to finding a Doctor who will be positive(some have no bedside manners and can be downright mean to women who don't fit the *perfect* mold).

Good luck and keep us posted!
