I spent Easter alone today. This is only the second year I haven't been with my family on Easter. Last year I was getting ready for finals and ate Easter dinner at Carl's Jr with a friend. I spoke to my parents for a few minutes this afternoon, and ran into my aunt and cousin at the grocery store. I actually had a lot of work to do today, but it still would have been nice to have the prime rib and lemon meringue pie my mom was serving!

Breakfast and lunch were kind of crappy, but I indulged in a couple of Cadbury creme eggs (which I really regret--they make my teeth hurt). For dinner I made chicken and rice, a baby spinach salad w/peppercorn ranch dressing, a French roll, a glass of pinot grigio wine, and a slice of chocolate cake. I'm STILL stuffed.

Anyway, today I realized that I have 280 days to lose 50 pounds so that I can look stunning in the bridesmaid's dress I'm going to be wearing at a friend's wedding. I wanted to enjoy my Easter dinner, but starting tomorrow, it's going to be the gym, five days a week, eating breakfast at home, and sticking to less than 2000 calories a day (it's amazing I've been able to lose weight at all considering how often I go over that target). So, wish me luck!

Several months ago I decided to make better choices when it comes to food, and whether it's Easter or some other holiday really doesn't impact on that. I had a wonderful day, and glad to hear yours was the same.

Good for you! I didn't do TOO badly. I did indulge in some of the "real" food that aren't really on my plan - ham, sweet potatoes, etc - but I DID manage to stay away from the candy for the most part. I bought potato chips and snacks in a flavour that I don't like for my visitors. My DH gave me some chocolate eggs, and I've put them away to enjoy one or two as a treat after dinner each night instead of eating all at once ;-)

I'm glad to hear that! Most people, though, indulge a little bit in special holiday treats, and I don't think there is anything wrong with that. A diet is much easier to stick with if there is some room in it for not giving up everything that one likes! :-)

I TOTALLY blew Easter. Went home ot my parents' house and managed to pass up KFC, Domnioes, and Peanut Butter Pie, but...there's where it fell apart. I think I had about 4 peanut butter eggs, didn't eat my fruits or vegetables, didn't drink my water, had squash casserole which is more cheese and sour cream than squash, pickled beet eggs, hard rolls, banana cream pudding...and lots more. So I passed up my weigh-in today, but made an appointment for Wednesday. I want the chance to redeem myself over the next two days, but that might be hard considering I'm still in a sugar-haze ;) And she said, "Lead me not into temptation, for I shall find the way myself!" Groan.

LOL - loved your last line! Don't let it get you down, though. A couple of bad days mean NOTHING in the grand scheme of things, and the committment to get yourself back on track is the important thing. Besides, it takes 3500 extra calories to pack on just ONE pound, so you probably didn't do as much damage as you think.
