I have been lurking for a while and am impressed at the support you give to each other. I hope that I can join.
After about 10 years of failing to pay attention to my weight (really) and a lot of stress I reached a high weight of 257. That gave me 107 pounds to lose. My ahha moment was 2 months ago when I flew on a trip and had a moment of panic when I got on the plane--"what is my butt doesn't fit in the seat?" It did fit (kind of) but it sure wasn't comfy. I decided right then that I wasn't going to do this anymore. Right after my trip I started Weight Watchers at home. I set a minigoal of 225 by Easter and I made it! Of course I ate something yesterday that added back 3 pounds (Probably the sodium in the chinese food) but I am hopeful that it will be gone by tomorrow. So now I have another 25 pounds to my next goal.
Thanks
Amy

Another newbie here. I wouldn't worry about the three pounds, as it's doubtful that you or anyone could eat enough to really gain 3 lbs in one day. Water weight, yes. But pounds that stay put, no. Since one pound of body weight means eating an extra 3500 calories above what your body needs to function, that one Chinese dinner didn't have 3500 x 3 calories in it. Safe.

Pull a chair up and join in.
I just wanted to say Welcome, and congrats on your weight loss so far!
I'm a frequent lurker, but I mainly post when the monsters come out to play. I think it's fantastic that you've noticed how supportive this board is, even with the best efforts of our little imp friend to try to prove otherwise. I totally agree with how great this board is!
Welcome, and jump right in!
