My SIL joined weight watchers a few months ago and just recently reached her goal weight. When I saw her on Easter I was inspired to once again start my journey. I am not able to attend weight watchers at this time so I will be doing it on my own, at least for a while.
Yesterday was my 1st day and boy was it difficult with all of the Easter candy laying around. I am a sugaraholic! I started the day telling myself that I need to do this 1 day at a time and do my best. Besides the candy, soda/pop is my next big down fall. I made it through the day without eating even 1 crumb of candy. That was pretty tough when my boys (3 of them) keep trying to share their Easter candy with me. I also drank 48oz of water which is about 45oz more than I normally drink. The only soda/pop that I drank was 2 cans of Diet Dr. Pepper. I could easily drink 6-8 cans of "regular" soda pop any day.
I know this journey is going to take time and I can finally say that I am in it for the long haul. We recently bought a new house and the area that we live in will make it very easy for me to get out and walk or ride my bike.
After reading many of the posts here I decided to rejoin ivillage. It is wonderful to know that there are so many kind & thoughtful people here to help others. Thank you for making this such a welcoming place.

You are right it's long and hard but well worth it.
It took me since January to lose 6 pounds so it's possible!!

Nice to see a newcomer's post actually ABOUT dieting though. WW has an online version too, since there was some mention about not attending meetings right now. I don't use WW but there are plenty of others in this world who do and it seems ivillage has a board for that too.

I'm a frequent lurker, but I mainly post when the monsters come out to play. I think it's fantastic that you've noticed how supportive this board is, even with the best efforts of our little imp friend to try to prove otherwise. I totally agree with how great this board is!

I could go weeks without water, but I'm slowly changing that bad habit to where each time I drink a diet soda, I drink a glass of water. The weight is slowly coming off, and my blood sugar has normalized, so I guess I'm doing something right!
This is a great board. I've been mostly a lurker, but most of the ladies are so nice I decided to join in. Hope to see you around!
