Of course, we all know HOW to lose weight (eat less, move more in some manner or other!) but the problem is getting/staying motivated. I know I've got lots of little tricks that I use to try to keep myself going, and I'm sure we've all got some different approaches. Can we post all our ideas here to help each other out? I'd like to suggest one tip per post (so if you have more than one, post separately) so that none get lost in the shuffle. Maybe just looking at all the great ideas will be motivating itself!

Stasia's tip #1 - Catalogue pictures! I get the Sears catalogue and I clip pictures of all the outfits that I'd LOVE to be able to wear, but which aren't in my size (yet) or which I wouldn't go out in public (yet) LOL. I paste those in my little weight loss "journal", and when a craving hits or I feel to tired to work out, I flip through all those cute little outfits. I even went a little farther, this time... I bought a cute summer dress in the next size down, and it's hanging in my closet nagging me :-)

I could not go buy new clothes all the time when I was losing weight (not that I didn't want to, just couldn't affort it), so I would wear my clothes until they literally fell off of me! I mean, I teach middle school, and I would literally safety pin my skirts on me! I've also been known to use a stapler here and there! Anyways, when I finally did buy something that actually fit, I would buy something else one or two sizes smaller and try it on once every week until it fit! Cat

Another tip I use: Do not buy pants with an elastic waist!! Buy fitted. You can't gain the weight back 'cuz you know immediately if you put on any pounds! :) Cat

Just find something you like to do, and do it. Find healthy foods you like to eat, and eat them. That's about it in a nutshell. It's not about diet, after all, it's about choosing to live healthy. And that's not hard to do, when you're enjoying it everyday. That's all I do nowadays...just enjoy living.

The question was about MOTIVATION - as I said in my original post, we all KNOW what to eat and what not to eat, we all know to exercise, etc. However, any REAL person will admit that it is not always easy to do the right thing. Nobody is perfect (except for you of course) so the question was about how to make doing the right thing a little easier.
