I plan on rewarding myself when I lose my first 25 pounds, but I haven't decided what the reward will be yet lol!

lol..i was gonna reward myself each 25 lbs but decided to just reward myself when i wanted to. I know next month i have a wedding i am going to so i'll be getting my eyebrows waxed and hair hi-lighted. Then at end of the year i will getting pics taken with dd and me, and maybe with my mom and sis so i want to be close if not at goal. When i get to goal i am thinking of getting a tatoo on my lower back.

I should think it would be it's own reward, gaining a healthy lifestyle. Whatever, though.

As a matter of fact I am. When I reach 140, I am going to book a trip to Hawaii. I don't care if I have to put it on a credit card. We are going!

Obviously, being at goal weight will be the best reward! However, since I have a LONG way to go, I'm doing "mini-goals" with rewards along the way. Since losing weight is SO difficult for me with my hypothyroidism, I'm rewarding behaviour, rather than results! I usually do it in three-week increments, since they say it takes 3 weeks to really ingrain a habit. For instance, my first goal was to cut out chips and chocolate for three weeks (my worst weaknesses, especially the mindless munching in front of the TV). The reward for that was a night out with DH - a very rare treat. My next goal was to get on the stationary bike during my nightly 1/2 hour of TV watching- concert ticket for that one! Right now I'm working on cutting my carbs, and my treat will be a set of lovely Egyptian cotton sheets I have my eye on ;-) I haven't lost very much weight yet, but this helps me focus on healthy behaviour - and I just keep telling myself that even if I never lose another pound, the new habits will give me a better quality of life.
