Boston is rich in history. The Freedom Trail is a walk that takes you to many of the historic sites of Boston. It takes 2-3 hours to walk the trail, and covers two and a half centuries of American history. Some of the sites along the Freedom Trail are Boston Common, the State House, Faneuil Hall, Paul Revere’s house and the Old North Church. Here are some websites for more information about the Freedom Trail and Boston:

North of Boston is the famous city of Salem. Salem is famous for the witch trials of the 17th century. You can visit the Salem Witch Museum to learn more about the witches and the trials. Here’s an excerpt from their website:
She afflicts me! She comes to me at night and torments me!
She's a witch!
Words such as these struck terror into the hearts of Salem townspeople in the early spring of 1692 as hysterical young girls called out names.
By summer, hundreds had been accused and imprisoned - defenseless against accusations of witchcraft in a society driven by superstition and fear. The court, formed to try the victims, acted quickly. Bridget Bishop was tried on June 2 and hanged on June 10 thereby setting the precedent for a summer of executions.
The Salem Witch Museum brings you there, back to Salem 1692. Visitors are given a dramatic history lesson using stage sets with life-size figures, lighting and a narration - an overview of the Witch Trials of 1692.

Plymouth (also spelled Plimoth) Plantation is south of Boston. In 1620 the pilgrims came over from the Mayflower and landed on Plymouth Rock. You can visit Plimoth Plantation and learn all about the pilgrims and how they lived in the 1600’s. Employees wear period costumes and show us how life in the colonies began. For more information, you can visit http://www.plimoth.org/ or http://pilgrims.net/plimothplantation/vtour/ for a virtual tour.
About me and my family:
I’m 39 and work fulltime at a staffing company as a payroll accountant. I’m happily married to a wonderful man and we’ve been married 12 years. I like to shop, travel, read and do projects around the house. I love to research different areas of the country and I’m fascinated by how diverse each area is. One of my goals in life is to visit all 50 states (I’m a geek, I know). I’ve been to 31 so far, so I’m well on my way. I’ve lived in MA most of my life, with the exception of a few years when I lived in Derry, NH. I am the youngest of six. I have four brothers and one sister, their ages ranging from 44-53. My parents are both gone, but I have a great family none the less. I have two nieces and four nephews, their ages ranging from 9-16. Oh, and I have a cat named Lacey.
My husband’s name is Jose. He’s 47 and was born in the Azores. He moved here when he was 12 and he still speaks fluent Portuguese. He’s an Applications Engineer and travels a lot. His company is based out of The Woodlands, TX and when he’s not traveling he works from home. When I first met him, he owned a gas station. I worked at the Burger King next door and would find any excuse to go over to his gas station when I saw his car there. Even if I had no gas, I would go over to buy a pack of gum or something. I was 22 and he was 30. I always looked young for my age and he thought I was only 16 so he wasn’t interested in me. When he found out how old I was, he finally showed an interest. That was back in 1987 (yikes!). We were married in 1991.
I also have a cat named Lacey. We got her about a year ago from a shelter. She’s pure white. Her former owners had to give her up because they had too many animals and one of them bit her in the back of the neck, so when we got her, she still had a wound on her neck. They named her Snowbell, and while that’s cute, I didn’t want her to have the word “snow” in her name because I figured almost every white cat has “snow” in it’s name and I wanted to be different. She’s the sweetest cat I ever had. She loves to sit on my lap and loves to be held. I’m glad we were able to give her a good home.
Well, that’s me in a nutshell. I hope that when you visit, you can stay longer LOL!
