Shawna, I know I'm a little late here, but I just wanted to offer my support. I know it's hard when you get off track, and it must be so frustrating to be back in the 180's after all the hard work to get there, but I have confidence that you'll be back again in no time. You have such a good attitude about this whole thing and I truly believe that if anyone can conquer this, you can. You have come so far! I think we all get off track when we're on vacation. That's what they're for (well, not really, but it sounded good, didn't it?) I'm going on vacation in a couple of weeks and I'll probably do the same thing. But I'm hoping to do a lot of walking when I'm in Hawaii so hopefully I won't gain too much. Anyways, this is about you and not me. Enjoy that new exercise video and in the meantime, go out for a nice, long walk. You'll feel better afterwards.
Losing weight on a diet is easy; keeping it off is hard. That's what the statistics show. Most people who lose weight gain it all back, and then some. And I suspect, for a lot of them, it's because they do exactly what you describe.
I never went on a *diet.* All I did was make conscious changes in my lifestyle, a decision to treat myself well every single day...even on vacation. There's no vacation from good health, after all. And I've found that I really don't have a need to go on a food binge. It's just a matter of choosing foods and exercise wisely, and having fun along the way. Maybe that's the best *plan* after all.
I hope you get what you want, whatever that is. Good luck.
I think the other post about this being a lifelong battle is really true. I'm glad that you shared your latest battle. I imagine that no matter how thin I get or how good my long term eating goes, inside it will always be true that I'm fat and I'll have to face these types of challenges.
I've been cheating too...I actually don't want to step on the scale and face the music of a weight gain. I haven't been eating the veggies or the fruits, I've been having more than my 2 alloted starches a day, and I've been having minimal water. And, been noshing on the Easter Candy. Any advice on how to get back on track? Good luck, you can take those 8 lbs. off, I know it!
