What a surprise!

Well, I guess the docs knew what they were talking about after all. Into the fourth day of being on a low carb plan (which was Saturday), the burst of energy that everyone talks about hit me. I don't know if burst is an accurate description, better description would be an explosion. I ended up stripping all my wood floors, waxing them, pulling down all the curtains and washing them, the blinds also, AND cleaned all the windows! Poor DH didn't know what to think. And more importantly, after six months of losing a pound or two a month, I stepped on the scale this morning, since this is seven days into the plan.

...I have lost eight pounds in seven days. I couldn't believe it. I got off and on the scale at least four times, then went and found another scale just to be sure. I was almost in tears, but they were definitely tears of joy. I am not expecting this rate to continue, but as long as it is at least as much as I was losing before, I'll be happy.

Eight pounds in seven days...

Seven days ago 241/230/130

Today 241/222/130

And I feel GREAT! I just had to share. I hope everybody has a fantastic day!

That's great! If you need to burn off some more of this excess energy, I have some chores around my house that need to get done hehe! Keep up the good work. You're doing awesome :-)

Lol! DH was saying he was going to hire me out as I kept scooting him out of the way in the midst of my whirlwind cleaning spree. I think what freaked him out the most was the fact I still wanted to go for our evening walk after I was done that day.

My energy level is much higher than it normally is now, although thank goodness not quite like it was Saturday. That was almost scary!

I'm doing Atkins. My docs gave me a choice of Atkins or South Beach Diet, and they emphasized that if I was going to do Atkins that I needed to follow it as it is written in the book. If I found Atkins to be too restrictive, then they recommended switching to South Beach. I'm not a huge beef fan, but I do enjoy poultry, fish (especially salmon) and pork, so I've got the meat part covered.

I plan on staying in phase I for just the two required weeks, because I like my berries too much to go without them for long. The biggest adjustment for me has been eating so many veggies. I had no idea that they were such a large part of Atkins.

Right now there is a fight amongst my friends of whose house I get to clean next, so y'all will have to get in line with them, lol!
