I disagree if insurance companys pay for this type of surgrey it makes it way to easy. I had a friend who has very low self esteem she was a diebetic she thought if she would have this surgery it would make her life amazing and that she would look so beautiful thin and so she talked to a doctor and he told the insurance company that she needed the surgrey that it was medically nessesary. She thought this surgrey would be life changing well it was she died three days after her surgrey from complications.

I am SOOO staying away from this topic, but I will say, one of our dispatchers had stomach bypass surgery last year and continues to eat the worst food in the world...he will eat chinese, Cheetos, anything that doesn't make him vomit like sugar, carbonated beverages...so while it did assist him to lose weight, he still hasn't developed healthy habits. It's really sad.

I would love to debate this, but I have VERY strong opinions and could not guarantee that I could hold my tongue....

But, janna730 made a comment that insurance will pay for Viagra, but not the bypass surgery, and someone else added, 'not unless you could link it to erectile dysfunction'.

There are many valid points here, so I might change my mind later, but I'm too tired and cranky right now....
