New around here, BUT...

I've lurked for a while. I'm really not so sure what all this "troll" business has been about. It seems to me that we all are entitled to our own free speech. I don't want to ruffle anyone's feathers, but I think it goes too far. I'd like to come here for support and advice from ALL types of people, and hopefully none of you will decide to label me a troll.

I think some of Forte's messages have been dismissed out of hand in spite of holding good advice or support, because some people have decided she is "troll"ish. I would like help from anywhere I can get it.

I don't mean to sound like anyone's mother. I just hope I get some positive responses, and some helpful ideas on how to lose a large amount of weight. Thanks!

Abby

I couldn't agree with you more. It's a regular war zone. But welcome. Nice meeting you, Abby.

Hippolytes,

Have you read the book Hippolytes Island? I bought it because I heard it was good but haven't gotten to it.

What "real book" do you suggest she "open?" And why do you feel cook books are irrelevant when a person is paying attention to food choices? Your post makes no sense, and for all you know she opens a whole lot more "real books" than you do. So what gives? What compelled you to make that remark?

Barbara Hodgson, here's the link to the book on Amazon.com. One of my friends highly recommended it, but I just haven't actually started it. Probably has to do with the new baby and my supposedly working from home. :)

Erin,

That definitely sounds interesting. There is an author I heard about last night (can't remember the last name, I think it begins with M and sounded very Irish) who writes these books about mythology that I think I would like to read.

Too bad I can't remember the name!

Hmmm..I went and googled a list of pagan books and found mostly things on nature etc...but there were also a couple books on Goddesses..I have always found that subject EXTREMELY interesting and so I bought a book called "When God was A woman" by Merlin Stone ...It looks great and maybe will

To ALL:

So okay...I am confessing. I did a little experiment. I made up a user name.

nahganom is suamomi.

I wanted to make a point. I do agree with many things that these "trolls" have said. They do make some very informative posts...not always tactful but very informative a lot of times.

and yet, when I post to agree I am labeled myself. I decided to do this little experiment, not to betray anyone's trust but to make a point.

THIS IS RIDICULOUS!

I am not leaving...I am hoping that you all see the point I was trying to make. Neither of my posts in this thread (under the nahganom name...115419.5 & 115419.23) were meant to attack anyone. Yes, I said that some of the regulars are more troll-like than the supposed trolls and I stand by that. I think it is amazing how it's not seen. And if you all want to ignore me now too that's fine. I am still going to support everyone here and share my victories and my defeats. So ignore me if you want to but I'm not going away.

So yes, I have talked openly to you all and offered support but not under that name. Yes, I told a fib about being a lurker. Oh well. Get over it...if you don't like someone, ignore them. Not everyone in this world is going to be tactful or love everyone. Like I've said before, we're all entitled to our own opinions and just because someone doesn't agree with you doesn't mean they are a horrible person.

And before anyone tells me about "the history" I will assure you that I've read all these posts (well, most of them) and I know "the history". I am not an idiot who can't read. i agree that there have been some pretty heartless posts but they haven't all been made by the supposed trolls.

So there you go. You've all been called out.

<"Yes, I said that some of the regulars are more troll-like than the supposed trolls and I stand by that. I think it is amazing how it's not seen.">

I guess it's all in your point of view. However, it is not a point of view that I share.

I am new to posting on this board, but I have lurked around long enough to recognize the "troll-like" behavior that pops up time and again, in a very familiar theme, and it ain't coming from the regulars (unless you want to call the variety of names that show up singing the same theme song a "regular").

I've learned to hit the ignore button when I notice a familiar pattern of nastiness coming from a "new" name. Lately there have been a few threads that the majority of the posts I see "message deleted" because those posts are coming from the sources of nastiness.

I don't care how "helpful" their advice is. If they are rude, spiteful, critical, inhumane and downright mean, I have no time for their childish antics.

I for one want to thank the true regulars for the real support and advice they provide, and I am thankful for being able to join in and share experiences with each other.

For those who don't like the board, LEAVE! There are plenty of other places y'all can visit at.
