2. What are you favorite exercises (have something to recommend?) and do you have a tip for managing your exercise time?

I love going to the gym, but it doesn't happen offen with 3 children and a DH gone 3/4 of the time. I am still working on scheduling time. Right now I am doing it while the baby naps and the girls go to school.

4. What do you do in your spare time for fun?

quilt and scrap book

5. Do you have a special ability or talent?

I play the harp.

****I love oranges and strawberries. And as far as veggies...I like spinach and carrots and squash.

2. What are you favorite exercises (have something to recommend?) and do you have a tip for managing your exercise time?

****errr...ahhhh...ummmmmm...how about walking?? I just have to exercise without it *feeling* like exercise...running around the yard chasing my kid...doing cartwheels, playing "speed metal" ring around the rosie (rofl...just REALLY fast), that kind of thing. I think I am going to get back into hiking this summer too. :o)

3. Name five items near your computer.

****Welllllll...my computer is in the closet under the stairs...rofl. So there's not a lot of room for *stuff*: disks, dh's timesheets, a glass, a book, and my tape for measuring myself.

4. What do you do in your spare time for fun?

****whatever's cheap usually...lol. But when we do have money we like to watch movies when we can...or go to car races...or the park...go on spur of the moment road trips (like day trips)...I don't know...we're really open to all kinds of things so it depends on the mood.

5. Do you have a special ability or talent?

****sure...I am a pretty good artist and writer...though I haven't done either for awhile. I'd like to get into both again. And people tell me I give a darn good massage too. ;o)

6. And if you could have a special power, what would that be?

****hmmmmmmmmm....I think I would like to have the ability to go back in time to change things that I wish I had done differently. I sometimes wonder where I would be if I had made a different decision at some point in my life (like getting married so young...or not doing something because I was too shy). but then if I didn't like where I ended up I could go back to how it was...lol.

start weight/current weight/goal weight: 230/230/130 (not sure how accurate this is, I have to buy a scale!)

plan that you are following: My own. I think a diet or healthy eating plan needs to be customized for each person. I am trying to do one new thing every week or so, such as having lowfat/sugarfree yogurt each morning. I am also eating less red meat (actually I stopped eating it for a few months after the mad cow scare, just to be safe--it hit home because I was in Washington and that's where it was found), and less fat and carbs. I think this plan will work really well if I can stick to it.

Love swimming but can't afford the health club as a starving student, currently doing stationery bike and walking. I don't have any tips but could use some. I'm not an early riser nor morning person so getting up and exercising is not likely.

On monitor: Kiki the ferrett (stuffed animal from www.sluggy.com), Psyduck from Pokemon. Digital camera, Squirrel Nut Zipper cd, The Subtle Knife (a book by Phillip Pullman).

4. What do you do in your spare time for fun?

Read, write, watch movies and tv, travel.

5. Do you have a special ability or talent?

Writing and editing--or at least I like to think so!

6. And if you could have a special power, what would that be?

You guys had some great ideas for powers. I want them all! If I had to pick one right now I'd say the power to communicate with animals.

When I was in my mid 20s and finished with grad school, this was one of my very favorite daydreams. I played the old "What If?" game in my head so much it depressed me. I recently started re-visiting these daydreams and have come to the conclusion that I kinda like the way it turned out in reality. *smile*

Okay....Here goes....Dawn, current weight is 185/goal is 145 (Start weight was, well, I don't remember. Sad.....). Not really on a plan....probably why scale isn't moving. Going to try WW/ From NJ.

You know what, Sarah? You're such an inspiration to me! You've lost so much, and if I'm not mistaken, you've been on the plan less time than I have!! I've lost a fair amount, too, but I know I could have lost more if I hadn't had so many setbacks...now that I've moved on past induction I think I can get through this plateau I've reached, 'cause upping my carbs has seemed to keep my weight down even during PMS and the first day of my period. I just think that you seem so dedicated and strong on this WOE, and I congratulate you on your success!!

I really miss everyone from our Atkids board...I wonder how Caroline is doing?? Have you been in touch with her???

Good Morning I am Amy doing WW since 2/8/04 257/224/150. My Yaya name is "Duchess PMS". I have a DH and DS, 17 and DD 10.


1. Name a few of your favorite fruits and veggies.

I eat berries (Straw, Raz, Blue, Black doesn't matter) almost every day now that they are in season and I love sugar snap peas and grape tomatos.

2. What are you favorite exercises (have something to recommend?) and do you have a tip for managing your exercise time?

I try to walk 5 days a week and actually enjoy weight training but I am struggeling with finding time to do it.

3. Name five items near your computer.

My Church Bulletin Blooper Calender (The blooper about my family was on the April 14), Angel Beanie Baby, my new award from work (I'm very proud of it), photos of my kids and from vacations and a whole bunch of papers.

4. What do you do in your spare time for fun?

I read a lot of books and spend time with my dh & dd (Ds to busy with his own life).

5. Do you have a special ability or talent?

I am really good at public speaking-I love to do it.

The power to read minds--everyone at work apparently already thinks that I can.

~I love weight training on a exercise ball. It is so much fun! Tip? No tip here, I MAKE time. I work 56 hours a week at my coffee shop 3 night shifts a week at a 24 hour convenience store. I feel like I don't have time but I find it.

~Telephone, Lotion, picture of my daughter, magnetic poetry kit that I keep forgetting to take to the fridge.

4. What do you do in your spare time for fun?

~I enjoy every minute with my daughter & my dbf.

~I used to play the violin...that's about it.
