Hi first off my name is Misty I live in Iowa. I work as a cook/dietary aid in a nursing facility (bad profession for staying away from food)

I am on a low calorie diet of 1200 calorie daily plus i am on maximum lipotropics.

I try to walk everyday atleast 1 mile and ride an exercise bike.

My favorite fruits are Bananas, and strawberries.

My favorite vegetables are Lettuce, baby carrots and (tomatoes actually a fruit).

Five items near my computer are cell phone, ice water, pen, paper, my pug puppy holly who is soooooooooooo spoiled. In my spare time i like to read, watch tv, spend time with my family, listen to music. If I was to have a special power I would like to be a Genie so I could grant everyone there wishes. 396/380/275 I wish everyone Good Luck and I am looking foward to getting to know everyone better. Have a wonderful day. Misty

Yep, I started back up just about a week ago. I can't devote the time I need to now (heh, need to, yeah right), though. I played somewhat seriously about a year ago and then quit. I just started back up recently and my old characters were still there, wooo! I started a new one, though, to get back into it. I like playing healers.

I hadn't heard of the superhero beta. DH tried to get in on the World of Warcraft beta, but he didn't make it. One of my students did, though, so it's kinda funny. We talk about online games during lab *snicker*

If you ever go back, let me know what server you're on and we'll have to hook up, k?

Wow, thanks, Katharine, that means a lot to me! I do take pride in what I do, very much so. It was a little sad leaving the nursing home tonight...it was my last shift there until after I finish up my consolidation. I'll probably go back for a bit until I can find a better job, hopefully with a temporary license, because I have to wait til September to write my registration exam. I felt a little guilty leaving tonight, too! A lot of the residents love me a lot, and that makes me feel so great! One woman asked me who is going to make her cup of tea, since she thinks I make the best tea! It really pulls at the heart strings, ya know? I think the difference between me and a LOT of the people I work with, unfortunately, is that I actually care about the residents. There are too many workers out there who are selfish and just do things their own way to save time, when the residents really deserve so much more than that. *sigh* sometimes I wish I could take on the world, but at least I know I've made a difference to the residents, even if no one else appreciates the hard work I do.

Yes, an RPN is the same as an LPN. We're Registered Practical Nurses here. I might go back to get my RN, since I'm pretty much halfway there now...but there are other options I might look into as well. That's what I love about being in the health care field...a lot of different areas to go into. I think Physiotherapy might be interesting, but it's a long program (4 years, I think). I also thought about looking into becoming a dietician, but I don't know much about that process yet, and I'm not sure how much money you could make as a dietician. Another goal of mine is to get my foot care certificate, because I understand you can make a lot of money doing that.

ANyway, I"m off to relax and watch American Idol, which I taped! ~Sabrina

Put yer feet up, darlin'! Nursing is hard work. I remember aching when I got home.

I know what you mean about worrying about some of the patients. When I left, I kept wanting to do just one last thing, or go back one more day (I was put on bedrest for pre-eclampsia and I wanted to go to work??? :tard: ). I didnt know that foot care specialists do well financially, but no matter how much I want to help people, I just don;t think that rubbing tootsies all day long is my cuppa. ;)

I love it - you duct tape thing to your cat !!! That is AWESOME ! I have been know to harmlessly mortify a few animals I have known...Put rabbit ears on a horse for easter (and boy was he PISSED), dress up a dog in a bra and underwear, tie a ballon to a cat's collar, put peanut butter on the top of a dog's nose... it goes on and on.

The funniest thing I have ever seen'done was anesthetize a cat to be neutered, and they just go ALL sorts of floppy, like a boneless chicken. I had him waving, dancing, doin' the funky chicken... The vet was not impressed. I asked him that how was me playing with the unconscious cat worse than him about to cut his balls off?

'Nuff said.

Well, the foot care isn't something I plan to do fulltime. I know a few people who mentioned to me that it's good money on the side. It's mostly for diabetics, people with poor circulation, and elderly people. And I could go into people's homes and doing it for them, especially older people who can't get out. Apparently the course is only a few days long, and it's mostly stuff like cutting nails, I think. I think it's worth it to look into it, because GOD KNOWS I need as much money as I can make!! It was SO hard financially to get through school! ANyway, it's just about past my bedtime! ~Sabrina
